You've had a bad day, haven't you?

First you were taken off the streets and thrown into a dark room. A burly-looking bald man in a tight fitting black suit cracked his knuckles and pulled you to your feet. He said you couldn't return to your family, but you had a new family now. He said you couldn't keep living in the city, but your residence is much larger. Despite his wide grin and genuine reassurance, you couldn't help but feel there was something he wasn't telling you...

Subdimension is a cooperative RPG for four players at a time. In it, you play a character who is told they have the ability to Planeshift. This means you can open portals to seperate planes of existence (also called "pocket dimensions"). This is an incredibly rare innate talent your recruiting organization is constantly hunting for. Why? Well, the theory is that each plane is held together by an enormously powerful magic object called a Planeforce. The organization that abducted all four of you needs you to collect these structures and bring them back to Earth for unknown reasons.

Subdimension will not be illustrated aside from maps (for multiple reasons). It will use a simple D20-based system that really doesn't need much explanation, but I'll add the basic rules here as you discover them in-game.

Name: Eflek Yirkut
Age: 17
Gender: F
Appearance: Fairly short and stumpy, or hardy, as she might like to put it, like a twisted larch from the northern taiga. Quite slender though, with short black hair adorning her slightly reddened round face. Eyes as dark as night and teeth as white as snow.
Backstory: Until very recently Eflek divided her time between helping her father herd reindeer, her mother teach her how to be a typical northern tribal wife, and the tribal elder in performing the various rituals needed to get through the seasons.

Mostly the young women of her tribe wouldn't be allowed anywhere near the reindeer herd. But Eflek had been marked out, without ever being told why, by the tribal elder since quite a young age, and got away with quite a lot. Women, he explained later, were often the most gifted shaman, and had a particular grasp of the laws and customs governing family and tribal life. More mysteriously, he said, they could travel further in the Other Realms, although Eflek hadn't yet really seen what this meant – all she saw was Aslak, for that was the elder's name, completely off his face on mushrooms and fermented reindeer milk in the corner of his yurt whilst she performed the ritual drumming.

Despite her being marked for eldership, her mother would still regularly explain that it is important that she know how to behave as a good wife and mother. This mostly seemed to consist of kneeding reindeer cheese into shapely balls and brushing her mother's hair. Stuck between drumming and cheesemaking, she found a blissful escape in cajoling stubborn reindeer stags across the snow, lost in the endless white.

Personality: Eflek bloody well hates kneeding reindeer cheese into shapely balls. She admires reindeer stags for the stubbornness, and larch trees for their tenacity. She enjoys talking to new people, but is quite aware of her lack of experience in this, and as a result is a little shy. She is very friendly and kind-hearted though. She also has an acute awareness of where, culturally, she comes from, and is thusly often quite nostalgic. She wishes she was born two centuries ago.

Over the years he was pegged an outcast by many, but this never bothered him - how could it when his head was filled with worlds so vibrant and magical that his troubles seemed to fade away like mist. And then he found out some of his worlds could be real.......
Personality: Seth is a daydreamer, and a loner. He is imaginative, but although he is physically rather average, he never learned to surrender, and as such never backs down from a challenge once he finally accepts it.

Backstory: A prodigy of fighting 'n stuff! Well, she got somewhat forced into it. What started as simple self-defense courses to not go under in her unsafe neighbourhood earned her a fearsome reputation throughout her entire school, and beyond. She's really annoyed by this, and sometimes attempts to fix her image... violently. Looking out for her younger sister has calmed her down lately, but if she were to get stressed...
Personality: Feminine at heart, but has become really sensitive over time so she gets violent over the slightest of provocations. Responsible and tends to listen to reason when not in a rage.

An abusive home life drove him into becoming a bully at a young age, routinely using his bulk to take everyone else's lunch money for his own. That all changed when he started high school. Upon attempting to steal the lunch money from one group however, there was a book that caught his eye. That book just so happened to be an RPG rulebook. Raphael was intriged by the book and started to read it. After a few moments of awkward silence from the people he was about to extort, one of them asked if he wanted to play with them. Raphael accepted, upon the condition they bought him something to eat. This would begin a new chapter of Raphael's life, one that he would cherish rather than hate. He relished the days he and his newfound friend would meet up and play a tabletop game (And also bring food).
