Why are you bringing ISIS into this?
Cos they're the #1 grave desecrator alive and I like the idea of Emo ISIS just as much as Hipster ISIS or cake bake sale ISIS

Now we know why LW wanted to visit Wilde's grave.
To desecrate it as part of a conversion to radical cosmic nihilism?
These god damn Satanists are stealing my thunder

Maybe it was just a tribute to his latent homosexual tendencies.

Latent homosex tendencies on bay12 with oscillating penguins and emo ISIS? I know where this is going, and Oscar Wilde definitely approves.

Well, they would have a harder time functioning as an organization if they all had vibrating waterfowl shoved up their bum... as causes of depression go, "penguin impacted intestines" are pretty high up there.

Personally, I am unsurprised that the Germans gained from something that happened in the EU :P

But would love to see how they managed that one, must read the article after sleep.

It's true but it's only part of the story.  Yes there are fiscal gains from the situation but Germany would have been even better off if the EU economy was doing well.  Greece is a place where an ounce of prevention would help as much as a pound of cleanup.  So cheap efforts to fix the problem upfront (like instituting tarrifs in 2010 to pay off Greek debts) would have cost Germany directly in fiscal impact but would have prevented most of the recession in Europe which would indirectly have left Germany much better off.

I wouldn't say it's wrong however, comparisons to counter-factual are inherantly problematic, who is to say what is "right"?

Something non feta related for a change. "Why a lack of parts has hamstrung Russia's military", heavily Biased of course, but claims that since Ukrainian made parts and cooperation with Antonov etc has been cutoff it's severely affected the russian military.
This includes not receiving the turbines for 3 Project 22350 frigates (Admiral Gorshkov-class), which Ukrainian companies were producing.

Edit:  Now back to the cheese; http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-33818186?post_id=980123832018314_997531996
Russian volunteers slap stickers onto banned European nuts and cheese in supermarkets to deter purchases. The government now plans on destroying peaches and nectarines.

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Well, this discussion can only go well.

Can't we just agree that most countries have a serious habit of considering people to be heroes that were actually monsters?
That doesn't sound like a healthy habit... especially at this scale.
EDIT:
By the way, I'm still having a grim smile because this guy thought that I'm Russian at first.

This guy is the national hero of Uzbekistan and was a renowned figure throughout much of Europe for a while. He slaughtered 17 million people. He built towers out of the skulls of the villages that he slaughtered in order to intimidate others. He also was a patron of the arts and would move all artisans and engineers from captured cities to his capital in Samurkand in order to work there, causing the city to flourish. He is the direct reason for the formation of the Mughul Empire by his descendants, and Persia from lands ravaged by him only years earlier.

See? There's someone who killed 100x more people and is also regarded as a hero.
Eh, I know that stuff like that exists, after all Stalin is still considered a saint in parts of Russia. Also, as you even mentioned, Timur seems to had some good sides for his country after all, while Bandera hardly did anything else than causing a genocide.
