Victoria and Victor are different names :)

And I should have used a word politician instead of ruler

They kind of sort of actually are, unless you're arguing that a different gender makes something inherently different.

Hm. Quick googling said me that it is true. Before I always assumed that Victor = Victorious, Victoria = Victory making them different names.

Internet is cool for gaining new useless knowledge.

Yeah names generally don't come from the English language.

But that's just because generally the English language cones from other languages...

I'm curious- is there anything in the UK outside of Scotland you like? Because I've certainly not heard of anything.

Not meaning it in the sense of 'If you have nothing good to say...', but genuinely out of curiosity. And possibly minor annoyance due to you attacking my small amount of cultural pride.

Anything or anyone?  Because there's plenty outside of Scotland that I like. England is a great country; I'm fascinated by it and its history. I just don't like many royals. I am also fascinated by Wales and Northern Ireland. Any plan I have for Scotland usually involves the other UK nations too. It's a pity I seldom get the chance to speak well of England given the current circumstances.

But yeah, I don't dislike Victoria because she was English. I have many English close relatives and most of my best friends are English. I dislike her because she is basically the face of British Imperialism - Empress of India and all that.

Here is a noteworthy article on the SNP's current position post-referendum loss if anyone is interested.

Alexander Dugin?
Did you know there's no English translation of Foundations of Geopolitics? I tried ordering it - it was real awkward explaining that I wanted to buy a book written by a Russian fascist...
