After some more digging, I am now 100% certain (again) that its satire. It never says it anywhere outright, and the text in all the articles seems to be completely serious, but the combination of the name (which if you say it fast is pronounced "hard on"), the image, how insane every single one of the articles are, the descriptions of the writers, and other numerous minor things convince me that this is satire.

It doesn't actually say it anywhere, but its pretty clear it is irregardless.

Am I supposed to be able to smell the English blood or something if I meet people whose ancestors tried to subjugate mine?

This holy Bath turned the tide and swept away all economic depression in a sea of infusion, driving away the kilted infiltrators.
Yet by the time it all settled enough to begin adding milk, millions were already dead.

The Austro-Hungarians had it right in my opinion, we're all the same tribe of savages that kill each other over religion and that they would have none of that shit under their rule (or that they would ignore it as long as the resources were flowing, something along those lines in any case).

I always thought that the basic idea of Yugoslavia (not how it was actually realized as Serbian monarchy or under the Tito regime) was a good one. Definitely too soon for that, but maybe someday. That whole region is a really bad case of interrupted ethnogenesis, pretty much the opposite of what happened in Germany or Italy for example, in that Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks and Montenegrins speak basically the same language and could easily be one people if it weren't for centuries of bad history and all that stuff.

Some satire (I believe): Why America must say no to Scotland's Independence.

"Could Scotland Become the Next Cuba or Afghanistan?"

"Did Lady Gaga kill Lou Reed?" competes with a similarly-veined comment on CTSTDT (Conspiracy theorists sister site of FSTDT) for "words least likely to appear next to each other in a sentence". Keep looking for proof though, even the onion has tiny print acknowledging their satire.

Worth noting that the Ustashe were paid back in kind once Germany capitulated, the whole Bleiburg thing was a rather large revenge of sorts.

Also a fun tidbit is that Bosniaks are considered by most to be former Croats or Serbs who turned over to Islam after the Turks took over much of the area. The whole idea that they're a separate ethnic group sprang up rather recently as a way of political power play and further dividing the population so that they're busy fighting each other rather than noticing their country being robbed bare.

Oh it's a great idea, but not a very viable one, and I can't see it happening anytime soon, barring something completely unexpected happening (even then it would be a stretch, since history shows that even when facing a common foe people around here are just as happy to fuck each other over as the big threat).

The last instance of Yugoslavia lived for so long and was that successful only because of Tito who had insane charisma and managed to rule with an iron grip which meant that any and all nationalistic tendecies were quickly and swiftly crushed. As soon as he died the process of self destruction began and culminated in the 90's.

Also this. Tito, who gained power following his leadership of the Partisans in WW2, single-handedly held the country together, navigating between Soviet and American interests quite skillfully. He is an excellent example of a benevolent dictator.

They don't have anything explicit. They are purposefully way over the line and ridiculous but never acknowledge it. In the exact same way that trolls on Conservapedia are, except quite a bit more so.

I know, the Croats vs Serbs thing must go back to late antiquity with both ending up in different Roman Empires.

IIRC the hatred towards each other between all those nations from former Yugoslavia is the effect of being a part of Austria-Hungary - the more conflicted they were, the easier it was to rule them - but I could be wrong.

It's rather calm today, no further provocations attempted.  Independence square and Kiev City Hall are fortified with barricades,  rumors about planned night attack from police are in the air. Other than that everyone is waiting for tomorrow parliament session to see how will they react on the demands
