nooooooooooooooo
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

YOU CAN TAKE OUR LIVES BUT YOU WILL NEVER TAKE OUR TERABYTES

That news article has no mention about the role of home and school in sexual upbringing of kids. No, it's all about the technical ways to block certain porn. This worries me. Surely parenting is still a thing?

Puh, silly countries and their two party systems. Two opposing faces of the same coin.

You imply that not all the major parties are shit.

Labour=shit
Conservatives=shit
Lib dems=MAJOR SHIT!

Indeed, though I believe that some parties are worse than others. As you've shown, one need only compare the Conservatives with the Liberal Democrats. As much as it hurts me to say it I'd trust the Conservatives more. Although I'd trust this current coalition more than a Labour government under Mr. Milliband.

I have a feeling we should be looking very hard at the internal politics of the major parties around now. I'll be surprised if there's no splintering as we approach the next election.

10ebbor10, you're taking quite the stand here. Thos Turks were there for a long time, and the Greek Cypriot really didn't help when they refused that UN brokered proposal a few years ago, because the Greek told them they could get a better one.

Oh, and don't get me started on how the Greek threatened to block every single Eastern European from joining the EU if we didn't let the Cypriots in. And now the Cypriot have not incentive to compromise.

Frankly, letting the Greeks in was one terrible mistake.

Well, I'm no expert on the harshness of Belarussian "politics", but I'm fairly certain that while still bad, the guy "responsible" for embarrassing the country (and goverment) only getting 2 years of prison by a martial court is still somewhat positive. Maybe?

I imagine Belarusian prisons are far less fun than other prisons in Europe *cough* Sweden *cough*.

Yeah, but militaristic dictatorship martial courts don't usually hand out two year sentences to people who have let the military down. That was my point.

Also, Sweden has horrible jails to make up for the humaneness of our prisons.

Yeah, I think his brother would have been better.

Although, I did like what that old woman said they ought to do to deal with the conservatives.

'Machine gun 'em.' *starts making shooting noises*

His brother was ghastly too. Nearly all the good labour leaders have been dead for over a decade.

Lukashenko is also doing pretty well in his policy to eradicate Belarusian national identity in favour of a more Russified one. The eventual outcome would be unholy reunuion with Russia. One can see this in his attitude to the Belarusian language, Belarusian flags and so forth. He's also a corrupt, horrible gangster.

By "'politics'", I was referring to how harshly they treat political acitivists, dissidents, or military failures like that soldier.

Anyone familiar with the new parties to have arisen so far? Any besides UKIP? As for them, i got the general sense of wanting to back out of the EU and a good bit of badly hidden BNP sentiment. Anything i should know? (Edit: i'm asking for personal experience/opinion, please dont give me a dismissive google).

Political activists and dissidents often unite behind the nationalist Belarusian flag because it is suppressed. To express yourself as a Belarusian in that way can be quite political in itself.
