I assumed that frontpiece was her armored forearm, but looking closer she doesn't seem to have the bicep for that to be the case.

Oh.  It is an armoured anime girl; specifically, cropped from fan-art of a hoplite from Etrian Odyssey 3.  I've been asked where it's from once or twice before, so I just keep the full image around.  The frontpiece is indeed part of her forearm's armor...or at least, it's supposed to be.  I always thought it was just the way that she was holding it that concealed her upper arm, but now it looks a bit short to me, too.

Pft, I change my avatar whenever I notice it exists. Far as I know, people don't get confused with my posts. Although they do question my choice of my avatars rather frequently.

I really doubt it would cause that much confusion about Culise's posts, maybe a double take once to realize Culise's changed avatar.
