If Valor needs it for the armorslayer, then I vote Valor, I guess.

Oh hey, just checked my sheet/lvlups. Didn't notice that stat cap until now.

...I need to make 30 Skl a goal as sniper. Sure, it's only +5, but 10->15 can make a pretty big difference- if I have a Killer Bow

You'll get a plus three when you promote, twenty levels to burn, and a seventy percent progression rate which averages to roughly fourteen, give or take a bit, over twenty levels. I wouldn't worry about capping your skill if I were you.

Wait... so with Trainee, it's a maximum of total level 45? 5+20+20? Holy nuts.

Yep. The chances of you not capping is very, very small.

Which leaves the bonus for non-trainees being we can get the exp to reach 20th level slightly easier. Wheeeee.

Well, technically the cap could be higher. There's the Lord class, which is another twenty, and supposedly there there were promotions of the promoted classes mentioned in the handbook, some splat or another that never came about.

EDIT: Some splat called "Third Tier Class Guide." Unless they meant the promoted being the third tier, I assumed it was promotions to the promoted classes.

Third tier is like the classes from Radiant Dawn. And Lord is a replacement class for any of the first classes with slightly different rules I.e. you don't get the 4 stat points to assign, but you get 30 extra progression points.

Also here is the random question of the night, like any other FE, our characters will probably have some kind of end after defeating the last boss, so go ahead and say what ending do you think x or y character will have, and yours too. Just to see how many people have the same thought or bizarre ideas for the future.
