It's not so much that they don't do well, it's just that they have a whole host of weaknesses and only one good strength (high DEF). By the time late game rolls around, I have an army of people who hit hard, hit fast, dodge a lot, and don't take much damage anyway. Why include a guy who can barely even keep up with them?

But as BMM42 said, they look amazing and fill a vital role early on. They just suffer badly from over-specialization.

Yeah, you got a point there.

I'd argue that there are classes with more weaknesses though, at least effective wise. Their speed (Meaning MOV) is something hard to swallow though, I do admit. In what little of the games I've played, the knight usually always fell behind because moving one space less than someone really makes a difference.

My squad of badasses Lt-Col got pinned down by 7 fuckin' mutons. I finished the mission with two of them critical by using my heavy's rocket and my AWESOME sniper who pretty much killed everything she saw with that headshot skill.
