Consider this: Gregor and Derick have a duel with same quality weapons (Iron, for example) and in neutral conditions (no terrain, supports and so on). On whom you would bet?

Derick the Swordmaster of Doom
Gregor the Tanky Stab-Sentinel

Actually, I'm pretty sure Daniel's the most useful at this moment. I'm pretty sure he has better odds for dodging, plus has a weapon triangle advantage over the most dangerous one. Charlotte wouldn't even be able to counter-attack right now.

Yeah but at least she didn't doom nearly half the party to death in a fit of stupidity. That's already three times as useful right there, at the least.

Petty much what I was thinking.

Their actions reflect your abilities as the commander. They do something like this, you also share the blame.

Does this mean I get to tell you what to do? Cool.

Adrien turns around, and goes back to help the other people.

The worst tactical error was for Daniel to leave the treasure room entrance. With 2 vulneraries on him, Charlotte's arrows and countering, he could rather easily stall and kill the swordsman, and with some luck, fighter would follow suit. Hell, Ami was coming close so she could heal/rez him up if needed.

But oh well :P

The problem I foresee is that they could potentially take out Ami before the others get here.

We should have brought Gregor or Henry along. 2v2 is slim odds.

This. Especially at low levels, you have to tread carefully before your units start to become tanks, or near impossible to hit.

And isn't this a bunch of trainees versus first-class units anyway?

2v2 was perfectly viable once the healer got back. Daniel(or his corpse) could just block the doorway while would Charlotte twang at the enemies.

Unfortunately, that is no loner an option.

Yeah, looking back now I see that was an option.
I'm just too used to normal FE that I forgot that enemies can't step on spaces where PCs died :-[
