5. You check on the break rooms again. Thank god, one of them is finally empty. You scribble "DO NOT ENTER" on a napkin and stick it on the door, then close it. You eat your sandwich and apple, but decide to save the chips for a snack later.

Blind him with fire extinguisher foam.

1. You spray foam at Kleinsman, but the force causes you to miss wildly and fall backwards into Payne's body.

Kleinsman looks ready to kill you but his expression quickly changes to a fearful one. You wonder what's wrong for a moment, then you feel a hand on your shoulder.

2. It carpet-swam away and turned a corner faster than you could react. You follow its path for a little but can't figure out where it went.

Goddamnit! You win this time, 4chan!

Check the news. Then my mail.

1. You try to reopen your internet browser but your computer shuts down. You try to turn it back on but nothing happens. You're just about to kick it when you hear Mrs. Livingstone.

"Hey, Ronald, I just wanted to tell you we're shutting off your cubicle to conserve power."

You swivel your chair to face her. "Even more?"

"Yeah, we're going down to 25% of the department. It seems maintenance is having trouble and we need to keep these last computers going as long as possible. We can keep up until 11:05 this way. If they don't restore power by then, we've got bigger problems." She then starts to walk off, but stops. "Oh, and viewing pornography isn't allowed on company computers. You should know that." She leaves you in silence.

Jake tries to calm down. I mean, there's no way he could of died, right? He had seen him that morning. And Randy couldn't have attacked us. I had just sent him a letter, and he was perfectly way. And he could probably bet that his CDs were all fine, and that he'd just imagined them breaking. Yes, he liked the sound of that better. Maybe something to eat would make him feel better. He'd probably have to have less to eat for lunch, but he didn't care.
He goes to the cafeteria, and gets a chicken and mayo sandwich. (Mmmm)

2. The receptionist's desk is right next to the elevators, so you walk over and press the down button to get to the cafeteria. Nothing happens. Man, you have to use the stairs? You walk over to them and - nope, the fire doors won't open either. It seems you'll be unable to get to your sandwich.

Aiden Carlson continues eating his lunch. He considers eating the chips (6) and decides to, but they won't open. He tugs harder and the bag rips open, spilling half the chips on the ground. He grumpily eats the rest then throws away the stuff that fell on the floor.

2. Nobody seems to recognize how difficult it is to bash through three inches of steel until they've tried it.

Swing the extinguisher into whomever's behind me.

4-1=3. You miss, but roll away. You turn around to look at who's behind you.

It's Payne... but he's got plants coming out of him, mostly growing over his wounds and some pressing up from under his skin on his arms. His eyes are looking around but still seem lifeless. "Report to Biotech Laboratories," he mumbles to himself, "for necessary cybernetic implants. Report to Biotech Laboratories..." He pushes himself up jerkily

1. You're freaking out, man (-1 to all combat rolls). You're supposed to resolve technical issues, but the lack of a computer is a technical issue you can't resolve.

But... there's one thing you can still take care of. You look over at the copier. Over these years, it's put you through more pain than any other electronic. You must destroy it.

Ask the Money eaterscolleagues if they saw the shark.

1. You decide to head into the break rooms to ask people. You walk into one where Randy Lindeman and Kevin Kleinsman (Mr. Kleinsman's brother) are giving what looks like a sermon. There are eight people sitting at the lunch tables listening to them.

"Hey," you ask. "Has anyone here seen a floor shark?"

Lindeman drops his bible. "The demon. You're working with it."

"No, I'm just looking-"

"Nonsense! You're friends with that sinner McWallace. Grab her!" The people closest to you begin to rise from their seats.

The printer is one of the worst things to happen to your office since windows Vista. Broken beyond all hell and finances just won't give you the funds to buy a new one, stating that it "works as intended", proving once again that driving its employees mad is corporate policy in this place.

Haul the printer out of a window.

Jake wasn't sure, but he thought the elevators must be an IT thing. He heads to IT and asks for some help fixing the elevator.

5. You ask around in IT for anyone who can help out with the elevators. Eventually you find Jackie A. Montgomery, a recent engineering graduate who's working here until she can afford her doctorate. You're not sure if engineering has anything to do with screwing with elevators but you're not going to turn down someone who's willing to help.

She walks with you towards the elevators, carrying a company laptop. "So I don't think I can solve the mechanical issues, but I can force the elevator to stop on our floor. Then we can pry the doors open. That shouldn't be too hard with that pipe."

Charge out of there!

3. You leap for the cubicle exit but Mr. Kleinsman tries to shove you back in so he can run away. (1) You grab his arm as he reaches for you and throw him back instead.

"You're fired!" he shouts as you run away.

She then look behind them "Oh hi Mr. Kleinsman what are you doing here?"

2. They're not going to fall for that. One of them grabs for you (3) but misses. You retaliate with your knife (1) but miss as well. At least they see you have one. The intimidation should work.

"A demon blade!" Kleinsman shouts.

"Do not fear it," Lindeman preaches. "It cannot hurt the truly faithful."

Well, so much for intimidation.

Head out. Try to locate either something to do or some way to pass the time.

2. Contrary to your pre-lunch observations, the office seems mostly empty. Some groups have probably gathered together in places you can't find.

4. You look at the copier, then you look at the beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows at the perimeter of the building. They need to get acquainted.

Seconds later, a printer crashes through a window into the streets of downtown Cincinnati (4), slamming into the roof of a taxi. You feel at ease again.

From near the open window, you can hear the sound of an approaching helicopter.
