I am not opposed to progress, Yang. The Lord assists those who believe, but we must, as always, make our own way. The Lord is the guiding light, but we must man the ship. I certainly oppose your kind of progress, though - progress without morality, without conscience, without responsibility. You throw away everything that makes progress worthwhile and hail it as a positive. The righteous need not cower before the drumbeat of human progress. Though the song of yesterday fades into the challenge of tomorrow, God still watches and judges us. Evil lurks in the datalinks as it lurked in the streets of yesteryear. But it was never the streets that were evil. It was always men, and the actions of men.

I suspect, Chairmun Yun, that you are one of those men. I have read your manifestos, and I see the future you envision, and there is no place for humanity in it. If you wish to tirelessly pursue your own oblivion, then do so - when God's righteous fury cleanses you from Planet, however, do not expect us to aid to you.

Good Sister Kiera, I do not pretend that progress is easy or comfortable, but progress is all too necessary. Humanity cannot and will not thrive stagnating under a government that chooses to deny advancement, as history has demonstrated time and time again, for instance the late Qing Dynasty. I know what is best for my people and will do what I can to spur the coming of progress. I do not pretend that I am some kind of great savior, only a guide to a better place. Together, we must all make sacrifices, and I know that I can make those sacrifices worth their while. You may feel free to judge my methods and call them evil, but when I have built a utopia in which all citizens thrive and no citizens suffer, have I not built the heaven that your citizens pray for fruitlessly?

I admire your commendable sense of ethics, Sister, but they are misplaced. Do not look at microcosms and instead look at the large picture - is utopia not worth the means to acquire it? If you will spare us no aid when your distant god wipes us out, so be it, but know that when our utopia becomes complete, your citizens will be quite welcome to join. Has your messiah not told you to turn the other cheek? We hold no grudges against the misguided, so why do you?
