Good, we've got the Rogue, the Druid and the Fighter. Basically all that this basic campaign needs now is a sorcerer or wizard and we'd be in place and ready.
That or a Bard. Just because Bards are bards.
(I'm hopeful for the fourth one to come before a couple of hours and have the sheet done. *shivers in excitement at his new test subje...players*)

Here is a preliminary sheet. Still missing a few things, like a sheet for the animal companion and back story. I'll certainly get that stuff done soon.

If you wanted I could give you some help. We could connect over IRC or though PMs. Assuming Shade is okay with a newbie playing that is.

Pointing me in the direction of the necessary rules to get me started and giving some tips would be fine, and I might join later if someone calls it quits.

Uh... since I have a -4 armor check penalty, my Balance should be zero, right? 2 ranks and a +2 without the armor. I think that's how this works.

Yes, but I usually apply it when it's pertained, not on the character sheet.
(Worry not, All the negative modifiers will be remembered when you're rope walking over a pit of acid)

The SRD is a pretty good source for the rules and core options. It (by design) is not really quite enough for a newbie to use by itself, but with some help or knowledge it is all you need to play a core only (like this) game.

As for tips. Uh. I guess the biggest mistake people seem to make is not remembering that D&D is a game and about fun. Also playing a really complicated class may be a bad idea for your first time. But then again, maybe not.

D&D is at it's core really quite simple, it can be complicated if you play it that way, but it need not be.

I think I'll join this as a cleric (unless you guys would prefer I be an arcane caster...), but it might take me a bit to get up a character. I'll provide the mythweaver link when I'm finished.

No problem. I did say it was 4-6 players, so if someone else pops up and finishes before you don't worry, you've got the spot anyway.

I decided to go for a Sorceror, since I noticed you said earlier we just need an arcane caster. So, here. Korina Understone, Halfling Sorceress. Sooner or later I'll get an image up for her. ^^^;

Also, here's the image:

And we may begin. (Worry not Rabid, there's a spot fix for you when you finish doing your sheet!)
