No.
Would you care to elaborate on that? At what point is pain not a factor? Hopefully at some point after we start talking about
animals organisms without pain receptors, or I'll have to call you silly.
Does no one care that they're allegedly fishing for sharks? Sharks which are as intelligent as most mammals and birds, and very very endangered.
Is this a rhetorical question? Yes, people care. No, people at large probably don't care as much as they do about cute puppies. You can't blame them too much, because biology does it. It's a nurturing instinct triggered by things that look helpless or infantile.

A lot of the world's most intelligent animals are classed as vermin or else slaughtered in the wild or farmed with impunity. There is a great level of ignorance concerned when animals that don't hold public pedestals are abused.
Yep. No disagreement - Fisherman who catch the ocean sunfish (Mola Mola) cut their fins off and throw them back in the water so, without being able to swim, they just fall to the bottom of the ocean and die because they clog sailfish nets. They can be up to 90% of the bycatch, and their conservational status hasn't been evaluated yet.
There's only so much time in one's life and you can't champion the cause of every animal in the world.
