Huzzah!
Roll 71
When combat occurs, both attacker and defender roll a dice.
If the attacker rolls higher than the defender, the difference between the rolls determines the amount of damage dealt in terms of injuries. Higher values are better, but even a roll of 4 vs 3 (example) will result in some damage.
If the defender rolls higher than the attacker, the defender might deal a counterattack if he/she is capable and rolls well enough, using the difference as a d6 result.
CHARISMA: Increases all social actions by +1 while equipped. Each point stacks with other sources of charisma.
DEFENSE: Increases your own defense roll when you are hit with an enemy weapon, mitigating your own injuries. Defense does not stack and only your highest defense value will be taken into account.
Deflect Chance: 1 in 6th chance that a light attack (bullets, sword slashes, glancing hits from an axe, punches, sweeping beam, etc) will simply be ignored. Stacks linearly, so 6 deflect chance means that you are immune to conventional attacks.
Parry Chance: Same as deflect chance, but it's a second calculation. If you have two one-handed weapons, both will stack linearly with each other.
DMG: Damage type. Some armors defend against different types better than others.
CRIT: The kind of injury this weapon will do if you roll a base 5, regardless of enemy defense.
CLUMSINESS: When carried, decreases social actions and actions requiring precision, such as long distance weaponry use. Stacks linearly with different items.
STRENGH: Adds to strength-related actions such as moving heavy objects or punching people. Stacks linearly.

The large flat structures on the front and sides are radiators (some of which can be retracted during combat to protect them). There are a lot of ornamental features that function as protection from impacts due to their distance from the relatively narrow central compartment of the ship. The actual part that most of the crew are in is much smaller than the ship itself.

superBlast, AKA RyanFlames out of pure air is well within the realm of possibility, since all it requires is a heat source. In fact, you can already burn yourself without actually consuming your own clothes or body, so chances are that you can already create fires out of air. Just not in space or a vacuum.
[2+2] All of this old technology surrounding you gives you headaches trying to control it all. Each appliance comes from a different time period and manufacturer, having different architectures that you must work around in order to infiltrate them with your mind. It's all chaos and disarray. Nevertheless, you manage to control them all after a period of time, leaving you to wonder why Geronimo even brought you to this room in the first place--or why this room even exists, for that matter. Isn't it just too convenient?
As you ponder to yourself, you unwittingly let your mind wander. At first, the lights flicker repeatedly, their power supply most likely dwindled by the other appliances.
Just as you notice the flickering lights, Geronimo slips through the door, an apologetic look on his face.
"My dearest apologies for the wait! I was unable to find Zarvo, the colleague I talked about earlier. I spent thirty minutes searching for him in the halls. He seems to have disappeared..."
Thirty minutes? It felt like less than five. Curious.
"So, judging by the flickering lights, I've noticed you're already at work trying to make sense of the tech. It's quite a jumble, we have it on the closed circuit because most of it was made before security standards were formed. Who knows what kinds of viruses are lurking around in there."
He walks over to a bulky monitor on a desk.
"What's this? It's not coming out of standby..."
The monitor flickers. You do your best to return the machine to its former status, but it goes through a variety of states, bypassing the login screen and even opening applications at random before finally shutting down and rebooting to its recovery state.
"I'm not quite sure what to make of this. Perhaps I should get Professor Valenkin."
You feel some sort of pressure building up inside your mind. Some structure seems to have formed contrary to your will, outside of your control. It is persistent, trying to wrestle control away from your influence, but it's not sentient. You don't know what it is, but it can't be good...
Unholy_Pariah, AKA Kenjaro"Indeed it is. I'm afraid I do not sell weapons here. But I do sell parts, if you're looking for those!"She pulls out a laser diode from beneath the desk, setting it down on the table. She also pulls out a power supply, apparently designed with a handheld trigger. Connecting the wires, she triggers a burst from the power supply, causing the diode to shoot out a bright orange beam into a carbon slab on the wall. Only just now do you realize that the walls of the shop are littered with pockmarks and craters.
"This laser diode is one example. I've got more to show you, if you're interested."((Will continue conversation after roll.))
Caellath, AKA Russano Neskratt[5+1] Your psionic sense allows you to perceive the interior of the timelocked region, allowing you to tell whether or not the messenger's cells are merely frozen or if even gases cannot escape if they could find a space.
As it turns out, your bubble conjecture was correct! The entire region, including vacuum space, around the messenger had been frozen in time, rather hastily, as you can tell by the traces of the Archmage's words still echoing in his work. You also feel a glimpse of the emotion of terror, held by the Archmage as the assassins likely stormed in. But you have enough information now to undo the spell, although recreating this effect could turn out to be useful. With a quick, witty snap of the fingers, the messenger's body instantly regains color and his limbs fall to the sides, cold and limp. The civilian crewman turns his head to look at you in the eyes, reeling back in his chair right after. You look behind you, thinking that the assassins are back and just entered the room, but instead you merely find a stunned Perfectio and Josephine, both amazed at your quick work and surprised by the messenger's lack of words.
You look back on the messenger to find him gibbering incoherently in his chair, leaned over to one side and being generally useless. But just as you let your guard down, you hear the door open and are immediately thrust aside on the floor. You hear gunshots over your head and the swinging of weapons, and struggle to realize what is going on, but as you rise back on your feet the door closes and both Perfectio and Jo are left finishing swings of their weapons at nothing, it seems. The messenger is lying in a pool of blood, his throat slit in all the chaos.
"That... was him." says Perfectio, solemnly.
"He's like a blasted shadow, impossible to hit. That one in particular was the one who carried out the assassinations on all twelve prior messengers. Now he's claimed the last one."
Jo packs up her sniper rifle, apparently also a set of scarlet-tinted blades, emerging from the barrel for use as a polearm of sorts.
"I am not one to forsake my duties, but this is out of my league. I've failed you both."
"Jo, nothing was expected of you beyond your current capabilities. It is well-referenced within our code of honor: 'Expect not what one cannot provide.' You will have later opportunities to prove your ability to the Queen's judges."
"Fair enough. Then come, there's no reason we cannot track the bastard. He may be faster, but he is bound to leave a trail."
She rushes out the door. Perfectio is torn between waiting for you to say something and following behind. After all, the knight has a point. Time is short!
New Miniquest: Time Bubbles!HEN, AKA Dominic ZoshanYou walk over to the trench and kneel down over the thin crust of dried leaves along the forest floor. The mist definitely smells like smoke, and the mist seems to be moving along the trench of its own accord, even when the wind is blowing the opposite way. You follow the trench to investigate.
[2] The trench leads to a crashed air vehicle! Its body seems to be in pristine condition, but its fuel apparently leaked out during the crash and filled the trench. A shame, really. It would be completely rude to place your hands on such a fine machine when its owner is most likely somewhere in the forest, scavenging for local food and looking for traces of civilization. Either that or, more likely, just hiking down the mountain and returning to Aterrus. You like to visualize things in a more romanticist manner, though.
