Yeah, I love that game.  I'm in the bay 12 round 11 and it's pretty fun for my first multiplayer match.  I'm probably in around 3rd place so far and feeling decently confident for a win.

For those who were interested (or, like me, lost), here is an update on the state of Despair.

The State of Despair

General State of the World: Atmospheric Ash, minimal sunlight have killed most plantlife, oncoming Ice Age, marine life nearing extinction.

First Continent: Terrestrial continent, dying.

Second Continent: Terrestrial continent, dying.

Third Continent (The North): Icy wasteland.  The "Living Forest", a perpetually fertile forest, grows through the ruins of a divine palace.  Doing relatively well, inhabited by humans and Skrettir.

Fourth Continent: Barren, desert-filled wasteland.  Black sands cover every inch of this ruined continent, and almost nothing survives there.

Fifth Continent: Burning wasteland, inhabited primarily by Eldtun.

Sixth Continent: Terrestrial continent, dying.  Inhabited by small villages of coastal dwarves, shattered and seaspawn.

Seventh Continent: Terrestrial continent, dying.

Eighth Continent (The South/Eversummer): Terrestrial continent, dying.  Inhabited by humans, former site of a great many civilisations, dominated by Hadria.  Hadria now in utter anarchy.

(The Father's Halls, Above Eighth): Floating castle in the sky, inhabited by giants and some undead humans.  Has gardens for food production.

Ninth Continent: Wrecked by earthquakes.  Chasm-filled flatlands (many filled with rivers or lakes) with a solitary mountain.  Underground tunnel systems collapsed, dwarves surviving in familyholds in upper cave systems in the Ashen Peak.  Coastal dwarves wiped out.  Ageless jungles turned to foetid swamps from continental flooding.  Trees dying from lack of light, rot taking over the continent.

The Seas: All marine life slowly going extinct.  Thousands of abandoned Coral Towers dotting the ocean floor.

Despair is, for the most part, fucked.  All plantlife is going extinct, the extinction of the marine ecosystem will fuck over most of what's left on land and outside of the North only the war giants (who don't eat) and the giants aboard the Father's Halls will survive.

The Northmen will probably survive through the coming Ice Age, but only in numbers that can be sustained by the Living Forest.  The dwarves can survive on plump helmets for as long as they can find organic matter such as wood to feed to their fungi - recycling crap will only go so far.  Probably they will manage to survive, but dwindled.
