"Oh... it's going to be one of those cycles again..."

So yeah.

Note that he said that when he noticed Proxxy, not Riltia. Theory of the long con is still very probable, and the one trying to get us to kill Riltia at the start was likely Oric.

I thought the one ho tried to get us to kill Rilitia was the Last Seraphim? Back in the very first chapter of the game?

It was an angel statue.
And I remember we saw another one later that repeated the message in a more foreboding way. Certainly seems like Last Seraphim's MO.

Last Seraphim's MO is escaping her extensive confines.

Riltia betraying us is an outcome of seemingly typical cycle; Target being betrayed by her has happened in the past, and will happen in the future if this cycle ends miserably. Oric wants his Siblings dead one way or another, and a Rebel who is hostile to Target has a large probability of only one coming out alive.

The Angel statue is probably manned by Ecco, Ecco's cronies, Oric himself, a random Illborn, or if Oric has a sense of humor, one of the Cherubim.

You first check the Shipping Grid for answers. Oddly, despite Riltia's betrayal, none of her ratings have changed.

Secondly, you check the Astral Influx. Uh-oh. All this sudden shock and horror has generated you some Soul Charge, but it comes at a price: Riltia is no longer selectable on the Astral Influx. Well, there goes the easy way of getting her back.

Didn't we pull this off with Copycat's ashes or a weapon or something one time? I approve of it either way.

EDIT: Riltia's spear! We have total and reasonable precedent for this activity.

Also, I think we should get a Sanity Bonus for doing something multiple times and expecting the same result.
