okay, insanity penalty cannot be un-stacked by taking a break. and working with / bending instead of breaking the chains is not a thing. breaking free is something you might as well attempt on every single turn in the hope of rolling a 20, and you shouldn't bother waiting for someone to break free after their first 2 attempts.

my body destroyed, I reach out against where the chains were formed, attempting to feel if they're still there in any way. If they are, then it's breakin time.
