It's attacks appear to deal dX d2 damage. We lose one bulwark (1DR) per attack, and we start with five. We have three more turns of invulnerability, and then a turn at which it's at half effectiveness. We can also cast bulwark twice, giving us 11 turns of invulnrability and three turns of half effectiveness to defeat it. And we can just flee into the next orb puzzle room at any time we want.
Plus knight adds two DR, so we are invulnerable when guarding.

Assuming it's like the other enemies we've found here, we can't hurt it, either. We'd be locked in a stalemate until we ran out of SP to recast Bulwark with, and then we're dead. This way, the enemy is probably going to end up taking damage, since I'm willing to bet these are Spirit-type enemies, and that would suggest that the whole "Spirits are neutral to Holy and Dark" thing refers to them being immune/resistant to other forms of damage.
