Hold on. What if those bindings are currently in use by us? Taking them might be a bad idea. Remember, we're inside the system; ripping out pieces of the system might have unforeseen consequences.

Or it might make the OS angry.

Also, I think we're the Queen. It fits so much - the mixed gender references (we switched, remember?), the angel claiming that the queen could hear us (while using what may have actually been a trollface), and the fact that we haven't actually seen the Queen yet. Alternatively, the Queen might be inside our soul or something weird like that.

Anyway, I highly doubt that getting Soul Bindings will be this easy. It might just not work.

This is your opportunity!
The lights may be those giant soul star bindings like that one behind the other three.
The lights may be active soul stars that are not with their owner; when the blink out, they are turning illborn again?
The lights may be dungeon levels? Unlikely.
The lights may be mercenary rooms. So keeping an eye on the void would let us see when a merc becomes available/leaves.
Or illborn might BE their soul bindings, and the merc room converts a merc from physical form to binding form, and back again; this would mean that merc availability is based on what bindings are drifting through the room at the time.

Issue with this. We probably need Slog's Binding. Just like how we have to match an essence to a dead body.
