man you're trying to get a daughter to hit her fosterdad. Not 100% cool I gotta say. That and well.

I dont like the look of the skill that would be autocast. Might be damaging, and while we're still in the underside we can just get a full sp/hp restore so I dont see the need to do this? Even outside, when we dont have infinite sp, I dont like the idea of triggering a skill that could hurt cherish for a 1d4 healing thing.

We want to do this so we know if we can heal Al for free when out and about in the dungeon.

Actually, wait, Al's Photorestomeditation skill can make any weapon deal Earth damage, so if Cherish won't do it Al can just hit himself in the face!

Also its a self healing spell, so the whole al hitting himself really makes no sense if he uses that. (although yeah I guess the weapon earth thing has no definted duration or anything, but its still 5sp to cast the healing spell in the first place so it isnt free I guess)
Also the weapon has to be unenchanted, which makes me wonder if bloodshaped stuff counts as that or not...

If mashing the down button does nothing to Slog on the Illborn Exchange, then try adding Stolen Christmas
-1; I'm telling you, we have better things to use Festive reagents on than Slog!

Yeah, I'd rather have a Christmas themed super weapon or spell rather than a Santa Slog. We've got other things to experiment with that don't cause us to lose a super rare reagent that we may not find elsewhere.

Ochita, you're missing the point. We need to confirm this for our knowledge's sake. We lose nothing by trying, as HP and SP are both essentially free right now, because we're in the Underside. By doing this, we learn insight as to Al's specific abilities, and insight as to universal Warrens mechanics that we really should know. Tell me right now that you think we will literally never encounter any enemy that absorbs one or more elements.

That also takes time, and since we're kind of busy with Ripriver's errand...
Definitely not now.

Hey, I don't make the rules, I just look for exploits. If "Absorbs Earth Damage" works the way we think/hope it works then we've totally got a great way to heal Al, and if it doesn't work that way then we'd better find out now instead of in combat, right?

Yeah, I thought about mentioning the "time" thing like, right after I posted, but was doing something else and couldn't be arsed to edit.

It doesn't take time, by the way. It takes exactly one image, and for FFS to tell us if it works or if it doesn't. That would take maybe like, 3 seconds inworld. Maybe a little bit more to go drink from the SP fountain. If doing or not doing that kind of thing is going to screw us out of stuff with Ripriver, then it wasn't meant to be from the get-go, since that's such an infinitesimally small disruption that it couldn't possibly make a difference. Remember how we were dicking all over creation and we still got to meet up with Cain? Remember, for that matter, how we "instantaneously" traversed the entire dungeon level via FFS map-animation? With very, very rare exceptions, time in video games flows at the speed of plot, and so you literally have all the time in the world to screw around with sidequests, unless the game explicitly tells you otherwise. I think it's a safe assumption to make that FFS is giving us, not exactly that much leeway, but our schedule is definitely not Persona Max Social Link Run tight. And as monk said, I would MUCH rather find out how this stuff works now, rather than in a life-or-death combat situation where we have the potential to guess wrong and be punished for it.

Final boss confirmed for absorbing all elements

But yeah, I see your point. At least have Al cast druids balwurk on Cherish before she starts to hit him.

E: Whoops, should be Bulwark.

That brings a funny mental picture of Al punching himself repeatedly, and healing from his injuries.

How about we solve this without having Cherish hit Al with her soul by just buying a tip about damage absorption the next time we head to DL2? Five fountain pence isn't much but it'd save a potentially dangerous experiment, and the delay isn't too bad if you consider that we have Four ways of healing Al already (Heal, Photorestomeditation, Refresh/HP potions, blood)
Maybe we could get one on sub-menus as well while we're at it, could help us find out what that last spell does (though I still say we should just zap someone/thing with it and see what happens).
