Theorycrafting: FFS uses imgur, if I remember correctly. Maybe the images stopped being associated with his account (it says that there's no limit on the website, but maybe he hit an invisible one or something due to all the forum games), so the max filesize decreased and the images got compressed? That's the only thing I can think of. However, if the images are being slowly bumped off, it should affect one at a time, not a bunch at once. I do remember imgur being down for maintenance recently. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I never uploaded on account. Plus, even new ones I upload get compressed.

It's rather annoying, but eh. Next update I'll use a different host.

Okay, I talked with Dex (who wasn't seeing the artifacts) and figured out it's actually something to do with certain web browsers now. When I open up the same images in Firefox, I don't get the artifacts at all. Crisis averted!

Because I'd screencapped the compressed version for the sake of demonstration. Explains why haspen couldn't see it.

Remember this image? I think what was going on when the voice mentioned being separated from "you know" was being separated from Bay12 and thus suggestions, seeing as the words are quotes from posts in this thread. The figures look kinda similar to the ones that revived Riltia.

We got seperated from ANY bond after entering that water, most likely including whatever safeguards were in place preventing Suggestions from becoming Commands/Shouts/Actual Voices.
Which is why we shouldn't go into the water without our soul star, nor should anyone else.

Edit:We should also not throw Soul Stars in there, because doing so would be following Oric's advice(Don't be a Hero); which in turn saving people would be a bad thing, to him at least.
