We already knew she had fused with the searchbots that fell in the acid with her.

But now it seems more likely that the ones that fell in the acid with her were incorporated into her body, and the others converted independently or fell prey to her later. Not seeing any remaining Rillborn since the incident suggests the former, which in turn suggests some kind of freaky Searchbot hive mind or something.

It may also be that the acid bath is when the Searchbots were hijacked in the first place, thus pointing the finger at Oric instead of an unknown Sibling (since we know it was him, Spira, or Betweenford who activated Riltia's Soul Star.) The proposed sequence of events would be that Riltia fell in the acid with the Searchbots, Oric merged Riltia's soul/consciousness with that of the Searchbot Hivemind (thus allowing her to live,) and Ciro saving Riltia segregated her from the Searchbot consciousness and left the bots in the sole possession of Oric. We haven't seen any white-eyed Searchbots since Reunion, right?

Some theory crafting based on a weird dream I had about TWoOtA.

Ciro is number 7! Oric is number 5! Oric wants Ciro dead in order to continue the cycles. Ciro had initially set up the Warrens to be something different (a haven for non-normals), but Oric took over and retooled it into the Warrens. As long as Ciro continues to lose Oric can continue his reign as a self-proclaimed god.

The Warrens is a prison designed to keep Ciro adventuring forever. As long as Ciro is enjoying her treasure hunt, why would she ever question what is really going on. And even if she manages to win and beat Oric, all Oric needs to do is convince Ciro to participate in the endless dance. Which believe it or not would be easy, if Ciro has fun adventuring then the adventure can BE the prison. As long as Ciro has the minutest chance of choosing to continue the adventure the prison will be recreated again. And since imprisonment has become the reward, why would she choose anything else.

As long as Ciro maintains the illusion of imprisonment Oric can watch the eternal dance forever.

I had an idea as well just now, so I thought I'd stop lurking for a bit and share it.

What if Oric wants the Target dead because that's how he gets free from the Warrens? Cain mentioned that he cannot die on DL3 because it will mean that the thief will live forever. What if the cycles continue not when the Target dies, but rather when the Target wins, which might actually happen every cycle? Thus, if Cain dies, the Target continues its journey and eventually kills Oric, restarting the cycle.

As to why Oric doesn't kill the Target outright and possibly helps it when it contradicts his goal, perhaps it's because he's bound to do this by the Warrens themselves. Like some kind of externally (because the Warrens work that way or the Angels force him to not intervene directly* to make his punishment - being humbled by the Target over and over again - effective) or internally (because he is Oric the Awesome, not Oric the Pragmatic, which creates certain expectations of how he must act, or maybe just generally crazy from the countless cycles that have passed) imposed narrative necessity, which would explain his desire to not reveal his identity immediately - it's more dramatic that way. Or maybe he just wants to see his good-for-nothing siblings suffer for some perceived slight.

Or maybe Oric possibly helps the Target because he (out of his own pride, which he evidently has a surplus of, or the rules of the Warrens) needs to be the one to do the deed way down in DL8 or whatever.

* - this might explain why Spira never leaves his side, to make sure he doesn't go off and kill the Target before the actual time to vainly try to do so comes.

Possibly because she disconeccted from them, in that time Oric seized them before Proxxy could.
