They're specifically stated to be guarding the door.  They haven't aggressed us yet, so they probably won't if we don't bother them.  Even if we do, it's unlikely they'll leave the room.


There's a whole interesting fountain and ladder to explore.



Speaking of ladders, when we're done with it, we need to take it with us.

Seriously, look at their stats, that's nothing we want to just blunder into! Every time a monster has been said to be guarding a door, they haven't aggrod until we attacked them. So let's not fight them until we have to, and do it on terms other than "ping away with our single ranged weapon."

I vote for going down the ladder, mostly because poking at unidentified liquids is another activity I would rather not do without a clear line to a restore point.

She's well paid to do dangerous stupid stuff.  Hell, we sent Proxxy into the obvtrap and she was fine.

She's fine in the sense she's not dead, but she got hurt, and our only healing options right now are the potions we're carrying. Losing a hit point or three every other room because we did stupid crap is a good way to get ganked later on.

I suggest sidling over to that ladder and seeing what's down there.

If we must combat the Hellyfish here's my suggestion: Go back and sell something useful to the Awesome Shack. (I know, I know, it pains me to say it too.) And acquire an anti-antimagic potion for Cherish. Cherish trades the Met Hat for the ice spell. Goombess takes point with the Met Hat, attracting fire while guarding. Ciro uses her shotgun while crouching down behind Goombess, while Cherish heals off the damage or fires ice bolts as needed. Proxxy does whatever unless we manage to get her a potion too. If she does, then she electrocutes these things.

N-no? We never actually found the D:2 stairs- we Oversoul'd our way there. The last time we stepped on an Obviously Trapped Floor Riltia and Al were forced out of the party. And, obviously, we're still working on getting them back.
