The reason attacking and healing, as a strategy, does not work is this:

Enemies in Warrens are not meant to be "fought."

They are meant to be lured into water. Forced off a cliff. Kited into attacking their allies. This was the intention of the combat system from the very beginning. You are at the mercy of a fickle, twenty-sided die, and the RNG hates you. When you are clever, manipulative and rogueish, you may overcome the die.

Goombess has a full inventory, she can't equip the spear without dropping something. All of my roguelike instincts say we should retreat, heal up, and try again, but I'm feeling contrary and stubborn. Stand our ground!

Cherish: Heal self

Goombess: Jump to Cherish's platform, Stomp Wisp (it's pretty hurt, will probably die from that.)

Ciro: Shoot left Wisp, jump to that platform (deal some damage to it so we can hopefully drop it next turn. Boss will be much easier without wisps.)


Tentative next-turn plan: Cherish recovers her spear and stabs boss if possible, Goombess stomps remaining Wisp, Ciro hits her with a healing potion.

Ciro: Don't be on that platform you're on.
Cherish: Jump to opposite side of room and heal from safe distance.
Goombalady: Stomp so as to damage a platform not near the exits or being often used by part, then lure big wisp into jumping onto said platform.

You know, while attempting to immediantly adopt any strategy at all other than 'attack attack attack' is fine, we should probably do it after we have cherish and goombess not die.

The Wisps are almost dead, too! Do you really want to...wait, how close to dead are they again?

I'm going to assume that 'Cherish at one health' warrents 'Back up to a save point asap' regardless of the enemies condition.
