+1 to hiring goom-bess and showing all the menus.

Go grab the scanner and give it to goom-bess, store our money and grab the spear we have, find the chief to find out how the machine works, make machine work if we did something wrong, go explore DL-2 for Al and Riltia.

Yeah that's basically the easiest quest in the world. Hire Goom-bess, ask to see her Pokedex catalog

You hire Goom-bess and teleport back to the Greens then head out the door. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like you're going to be heading very far to the "left" without some other form of transportation: the bridge across cuts off right into a pit of glowing acid.

Goom-bess doesn't let you see her Catalog.

Also, I think the cloner only works for things with a soul... It may be a bad idea to just run off with what's probably Slog's new soulstar. Said soulstar probably needs some soul in it, too.
