She gets up and walks up the stairs on the right balcony.

"... Oh, well, dinner! That's a plus, isn't it? And internet! Things are looking up, eh guys?"

He looked at the others with a grin. He was only stranded on an alien planet and forced into indentured servitiude: truly things were actually looking up for young Mike.

"Maybe. I will say that this is going way better than I had expected."

 Ori looks back at Michael and shakes his/her head.

"Not dinner. If I'm remembering correctly..

Well, best get used to eating sentients. Or hope that I'm not remembering correctly."

S/he cracks a small grin, before turning and following the lady.

[Fniff]

"And the food's going to be nice as well! Definitely a step up from ramen! And there's also the fact I'm one of the few humans to step on an alien planet, excluding you fellows, so there's that conversation piece when I get back! Wait... sentients?"

Michael frowned.

Better not eat any meat. Just in case.

Michael began to follow Ori.

"Right... then... They wouldn't... do that, would they?"

"Hope they would, no civilized society wouldn't eat sentient beings for for food if given the chance."

"They have very strict rules about it, if I recall correctly. You're not going to be on the menu until you die of natural causes.

If it makes you feel any better, it's recycling! Or...something. "

"Actually, I had the chefs prepare the meals to not include sentient meat. I don't really understand why it bothers your kind, but if it does, then the food won't have come from a sentient being. And no, you aren't the first humans on the planet. You're the first Old humans in a long time."
She takes them to a large dining room, almost as big as the throne room.

[Fniff]

Michael looked at the builder, then said. "Except that's ruthlessly barbaric?" He looked at Ori. "But... it's... It's eating... people! That's just... not right... Surely it's disrespecting the dead?"

Michael looked at the lady. "Thank you... What do you mean by old humans?"

Michael looked at the builder, then said. "Except that's ruthlessly barbaric?"

"Exactly, only a civilized society would do such a thing. Besides, if a sentient can't stop itself from being murdered and eaten, it deserves its fate."

"Or perhaps it's a wonderful way for them to help their people even in death. Some people would say it is just, right, good, and respectful.

Me, I don't care one way or the other. I prefer to look at such things...rationally. "

"Considering that in this city the families of the people who die still choose to put the dead person into the food industry, I'd say the dead have no problem. Humans have changed since they first got lost on this planet. We Daetrlunaudkis are descended from the Older ones."
