That'd require mechanics and electricians and chemists and...
Well, basically, the sort of people in short supply when the world loses it's pants and rocks fall from the sky.

To be blunt though, yes, an engine powering a power converter is a generator, and an actual one at that. If it generates power, it's an actual generator.

As for some sort of furniture based generator rather than a vehicle based generator... well it'd prolly need at the very least, a wiring system in place, and a house framework at most. Then comes the tricky issue of how they'd react to reality bubbles. If the system ends up placing a reality bubble everywhere a wire was, then your cpu usage would shoot through the roof when someone adds in Power Stations and wiring to housing.

For now, vehicles work though, and they do anything you really need them t do, so it's not a pressing issue to the dev team I'd imagine. Just make one without any wheels and you have your very own fortified bunker to boot.

Yeah, you can just build a "vehicle" within your bunker and use it to plug in all your needs. Of course, that mean you can't use furniture fridge, but who cares?

Is there a way to disable the warning messages you get when you're taking an action (like picking something up) and hear a noise?

EDIT: Also, side question. Do the Metabolic Interchange and Expanded Digestive System CBM's compliment each other?

What about those plutonium generators? Do they do anything?

If I could code, I'd put in a "outlet" vehicle part, as well as a item mod to change the battery to a "cord and plug"
Plug in that welder and use your generator as a generator~

Don't we have vehicle-mounted welder?

Probably but it wouldn't just be for welders, but other things that need batteries as well.

There's a "rechargable battery mod" supposedly for anything that uses batteries.  I don't think I've ever found or made one, but I *think* it recharges when left on a vehicle recharging station...

Yes, I've seen those and used them, but they're a bit clunky to use.

I also like the idea of being able to use generators/some kind of non-car power system. The reality bubble issue is... an issue, but there's probably some way around it... I hope.
Various tech mods in Minecraft can do it, actually. No idea about the technical side of things, though.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Well, what the difference between using a wheeless car and setting up a "non-car electric network"?

Design what components and skills you'd need to build it, gather those parts and skills, then debug menu a whole pile of batteries to simulate it.  Only using those batteries when near the vehicle if you wanna be strict...

Actually since the rechargable battery mod is in there, it really shouldn't be TOO hard to clone that and make a corded mod.  (everything's easy when I don't have to do it myself heh)

I'd hope the non-car erectricity could be used in conjunction with buildings. I want a multi-storey tower fortress with fridges and electric lighting, without having to cheese it with reinforced frame "walls".

I find them useful for things that I either don't use often (weapon repair kits) or things that drain slowly (MP3 Players). I have two MP3 players with rechargeable battery packs, and swap them out when one gets low.

erectricity
This is getting OOC'ed and there is nothing you can do about it.
