You post wasn't edited, why did you post this?

Anyway, what tools do you need to repair guns?

Also, I think reinforced clothing/items should have a weight penalty.

Firearms repair kit. You can find them lying around every now and then.

The post doesn't display that it was edited if it was within a certain time limit. Don't know exactly how long but it's no longer than 5 minutes.

Actually it doesn't display it for as long as nobody's seen the post before the edit (besides the poster), which given the huge amount of lurkers around here, isn't near as long as 5 minutes. If you're in GD, you'll be lucky to be able to sneak-edit a post within half a minute.

Oh right. Turns out digging down messes up a lot of what was intended to be an obstacle, huh?

I think adding digging was... a bit premature, to be honest. Hopefully we'll be getting z-level support in soon, and multi-z-level-awareness will let us determine roof and floor strengths, so trying to dig into a temple will give you something like "Your shovel hits stone - you can't dig any deeper here".

On the other hand, I'm really looking forward to explosive blowing holes between z-levels, because there is no obstacle that enough explosives shouldn't be able to trivialize. :)

(You could already get into temples before with a jackhammer or other wallmelet if you got lucky, which was always fun)

Yeah, I found some zeds in there one time. I was about to bleed out and on the run from a tough zed, so I figured I'd run in and barricade myself in a back room or something.

I found more zeds in there, allowing me to die faster.

...I don't like the hordes. It's not fun when trying to quickly grab some essentials from the town by your shelter, trying to leave the first house, and discovering you're surrounded by hundreds of zombies that weren't there a minute ago, especially when there wasn't time to have moved there.

Basements are my current hideout of choice. The current Z level limitations mean zombies don't shamble down there unless they see you, and even then they follow pretty slowly giving you plenty of time to get to gun distance. Even when the Z levels are implemented properly I think they'll hold up, just have to tape up the upstairs windows so they can't smell you and set up some traps for early warning.

Day 7, 1146 kills. I drove one horde out, and another one showed up and took its place. I'm getting really good with a knife though.

I like them, but at the same time I think they need a lot of polish. Right now it's kind of like playing on Dynamic spawn with the spawn rate jacked up to 3 or 4. Hordes need better mechanics based on horde size, game duration, and other considerations. I do like how they keep you on your toes though. The devs just need more time to make them work.
