Last I heard, crops didn't actually grow...

Man. Can't wait for crops to grow. Then I'm gonna take down a farm!

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Is it possible to give vehicle part-components their own hp-system? So that if something collides with a vehicle in motion, only that part gets hit? With armor overlapping and all that?

Because I was in a motorcycle with a sidecar, traveling at ~60 kph, and the sidecar hit a derelict wreckage.

Cue gas tank going boom >.<'

Well.

I just learned cell phones yield 200 batteries when disassembled. I simultaneously raged and was happy.

EDIT: I also learned that, with Mechanics 10, you can assemble a MININUKE

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

An UPS is 5 cell phones? That doesn't seem right.

Remember, these are FUTURE cell phones!

And it's more that cell phones have twice as much battery power as flashlights.

I don't think battery life has gotten much better since brick cellphones. Not as far as talk time is concerned. Far more rechargeable, which Cata does not do at all.

Batteries have gotten better in several ways, but the power draw from phones has increased significantly moreso than battery effectiveness.

Either way, cell phone batteries hold many times more charge than flashlight batteries. Their main drawback is interesting - they don't last.

They degrade not from recharging, not from use, but simply from existing - the max life of a modern cell phone battery is around seven years, and then it's pretty much useless.

But our limits are mostly because anything better is dangerous, expensive, worse for the environment, or in some other way impractical. But Cataclysm Future doesn't care about any of that! I mean, come on - they have mininukes widely available!

Silicon anode batteries, perhaps? Graphene battiers maybe? There's plenty of options.

It is honestly why I wonder why they don't make basic phones with the improved batteries... they could last forever without needing to be charged.

It is say that my phone from YEARS AGO that I still use, has more battery life then any cellphone on the market.

I'd like to have an older phone, but you can't get them, nowadays. And my old phones have broken.

Dammit, I want a long battery life and an ability to call and text, I don't need fifty apps I'm NEVER going to use and a battery life of, at most, a day.
I keep hearing things like "A company is developing a cellphone that just has calls and texts." which honestly boggles my mind in absurd ways.  DEVELOPING a phone?  We've clearly already had them!

There's a modern brick phone out now that has a 3 month standby time and something like 20 hours of talk time. Simple and mostly battery.

What I like about larger phones as opposed to iphones and blackberry phones...

Is they actually seem designed around the ear.

I HATE trying to speak on those square phones...

Better a square in your pants than something banana-shaped. Bricks ain't designed to go in pockets.
