I knew it was on your list.

Anyways...long-term plans involving the Count. Go!

Leave him be. His line of succession is now Sir Owen, who also hates us, and who is not an ineffectual and cowardly drunk.

I'm keenly aware that this is not the "fun" option.

for the count, I want to start building influence in his holdings, spread a little kindness to his people. I'm hoping that sooner or later he'll fuck up and we'll have a shot at replacing his as count.

I'm fine with this process taking 18 years or so aslong as the count isn't posing to be a direct threat.

Unless he's caught in treason, his properties go to his children. He doesn't seem brave enough for treason, tbh.

the thing im going on here, is what the duke said to us way back when we went to ask for Marna's hand.

he said something along the lines of "you should continue to strengthen your position and one day my niece shall be a countess" maybe he has some dirt/reasons to see the count gone and his status not going down his children.

I sepose we could talk with him about the matter again but its not really a light or easy subject to start talking about :P

Actually it was duchess...
Because had we ever heard of our dear in-law having childrens of his own?
In the case he has none, the duchy can go to either his nephew... or his niece, if he so desire (I'm ready to bet he know enough loopholes to do this). In which case we basically inherit the whole damn thing, and it would be so much more satisfying... Just imagine the Count's face...

Well duchess is a given as when the duke dies, Marna will inherite it, and by extension, us.

unless i missed the part he said he had other children/relatives.

Marna has a brother, but that can be remedied!

Is Marna the younger or elder sibling? If elder, we could improve relations with the Duke enough for him to look for and use loopholes to let Marina inherit the duchy.

The duke implied that he could choose Marna over her brother to inherit the Duchy if he were to find us worthy... This is out of character and completely unnecessary.

It's out of character for me to make a joke?

Upstaged and robbed of his patrimony by a flashy peasant. Poor Melvin.

I uhm, dont wanna mess with the line of inheritence there.

I'm cool with trying to somehow taking the counts place, but not with 'upstaging' Melvin.
I guess I'd be in favor of picking up the 'content' trait.

As been mentioned Gerv, humor on the Internet can be hard to decipher at times, so when making a joke that goes against the general consensus you might wanna add sarcasm or joking tags

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

I think that these should be a standard feature of all internet forums.
