I like taking Marna on a river cruise.
The blast furnace sounds neat, if we can and may build it.
Speeches sound like a good idea.
We haven't been neglecting our mediatory duties, have we?

Finally, incognito is one word.

This of course takes psidence, we can unify with steel if we can build the blast furnace and also a stable can wait.

(I don't think we will be allowed to. Wasn't steel discovered in the west in the 17th century? I mean there are other types of steel but they weren't really in Europe IIRC.)
The Romans had steel.  In fact, making steel was one of the things that was not lost in the christian dark ages

Yes there were different types but they had different yields and different percentages for the alloy. I don't think the steel you are thinking of is quite the same as what we would be producing and the yield would be very low and require multiple smelts and pattern welding or folding to actually be more than a percentage steel... It would be the same reason we don't ant to make fluted iron armor. Y'know what, I won't over complicate things with smelting precesses and the like. Make steel.
Steel is just an alloy of iron, so you don't really get percentages of steel, more like the components of the steel in percentages.  Also, they got a lot of it produced, seeing as how they armed the entire military with steel armour, swords, spears, javelins, and such.  We won't need complicated processes to get steel, all it is is smelting iron in the presence of carbon, in this case provided by coke.  The Romans did it by hammering iron in burning coals, and they got some quality steel out of it.

Yes and no. They had iron weapons wrapped in a thin coating of steel. I don't want to get into it. Let's do it regardless.

^ I thought we only have access to wrought iron which it kind of bad due to vary amount of carbon in it. So you got no idea what the strength or flexibility of the metal. Anyways, we should probably wait for the GM to comment on this.

Woo! 100 pages!

So i'm thinking now that we have our footmen up to iron weapons and decent armor it might be a good idea to get our archers some better equipment. Particularly better bows, but i was thinking we could also give them bucklers and a simple melee weapon they wouldn't need much training with, like a handaxe or a cudgel, our rangers should also get daggers or shortswords. Daggers have better stealth applications, but wont be as good in a simple fight.

Felucca is complete, correct. And yes, you are a bit too far upstream to produce deep draft boats... river is wider and deeper by the Count, and then the Duke is basically at the intersection of ocean and river.

How about heater shields and sabers. That way if we ever do have a mobile cavalry they can function for weeding out stragglers past our lines, possibly rapiers if we decide to keep them on foot and that way they can pierce through most things and easily take the fight out of someone as well as disable them (Rapiers are killer for parrys,). If we want to stick to the dagger route may I suggest the sword breaker.

We have a ferryman and fishermen abound. We can work something out and put them in reletively nice garb while they work.

Just to make it official, see if we can get a complete crew for our ship

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Yeah, we can have them double as fighters too, have the ship have a few bows and axes and such, and train the crew in their use to a basic level.

I noticed our rhetoric skill is fairly low, perhaps we could train this by giving speeches to the townsmen every now and then when we accomplish something important? It would help endear us with the people and if we're ever called upon to make an important speech it helps to have practice.

Let's give this a pass. Just because we have skills on the skills sheet doesn't mean each is equally worthy or equally suited to our character. We get further by identifying strengths rather than being all things to all people. We're common-born and should remember our roots. Let's cultivate the common-touch of stomping though a crowd of yeoman or man-at-arms, whipping off witty one-liners, slapping backs and shaking hands. (Hand-shaking was a commoner's greeting, nobility bowed.) Unless you have a knack, giving speeches is a good way to get a reputation as "that blatherskite" and pompous windbag.

Or at least, let's wait until the October Fair for this, and save our speechifying for an opportunity were everyone is in a good mood and willing to listen to the pointless meandering of a novice rhetorician.

Speaking of the Fair, let's get some buzz and draw outsiders. Let's have the jewelers create a golden pin with a bow and arrows, and announce that it'll be given to the best archer at the tourney. If we're to concentrate on light skirmishers, then may as well draw the best archers of the realm to our lands for recruitment purposes.

Keep up the training regimen, with focus on the lagging lance skills... a lance through the gut often gets the point across better than a long speech.

Fair point, however we have more than our people to impress, and may be called upon to sway our fellow noblemen. Also it is expected that, as lord of the land, we give speeches at tournaments and fairs. I would rather not be embarrassed at times when the speech could actually embarrass us such as the October fair and rather we practice in a more comfortable setting with few repurcussions.

Well, given THAT info, when she arrives tell her we seek her hand in marriage(not immediately, though! That might seem rude!). We need an heir for us so that the count won't try again.
It might seem foolish given the circumstances, but i thought we might wait at least one more meeting before this. We havn't had much quality time with her and i don't think we should rush. This will have been the first time we've spent time with her simply for the sake of spending time with her.

Why not?  We should marry her sooner rather then later, partly because it will heighten our prestige, partly because it will provide us with protection, and partly because we obviously seem to like each other.  We aren't rushing anything.

This is basically our first, maybe second date. Just for perspective.
