Yeal, that was why I wanted a dwelling that could be upgraded. Though, we don't need to wait for stone now that we have bricks being made, so I suggest we start looking for an architect in the nearby town for all future projects. Also, we should report the great bounty of this strike to the Count(Yeah, I know, bastard Count WILL be sure to massively raise taxes on us at THIS news) so as to get permission for actual brick walls, since as pointed out this WILL attract raiders.
Regardless of finding an architect or not, we can at least get the prepwork started on our manor(ground clearing, site marking, etc.). We should locate it close to town, but on a hill overlooking both the town and the mines.
So, in order:
0)GET PERMISSION FOR STONE/BRICK WALLS. GET STARTED ON THOSE WHEN ARCHITECT ARRIVES
1)Since we ran out of time last month, thoroughly study the book of laws and get magistrate(s) appointed to get the judiciary started.
2)Find architect. Have him get started designing our manor according to specifications(and even if he can't make it this month get prepwork started before winter sets in)
3)Have charcoal huts built/coal imported(not particular which)
4)Also, either inquire about blacksmith experience among our residents, or if none have any get one hired from other towns(preferrably with as many apprentices as we can afford, we'll need a LOT of metalwork done!)
5)Have ore warehouses built at the mines out of the sturdiest brick we can make, and keep all the ores(especially the silver and gold!) under guard to prevent thefts by miners/raiders
6)As soon as we have enough ore/fuel, get that furnace going! Smelt metals in this order:gold, silver, iron(for PROPER weapons finally!), and then the copper for tools and the like(plus copper coins as well).
7)Speaking of coins, inquire(or read if it's in the book) about the laws concerning coinage, and either build a mint or send VERY heavily guarded carts of most of the gold, silver, and copper produced this month to the proper place for turning into coins; now that we have enough, it should be a simple matter to turn most trade in the village over from barter to coinage
....that's all I can think of. The only thing left to decide is: wood, stone, or brick Manor?
