Deciding that you might as well do what you told the Count, you head off to locate Lady Marna. You spend the afternoon with her, walking amongst the people, introducing her to some of your soldiers when you run into them between booths and performances. She is a natural with the men, and her refined wit plays excellently off of your gregarious way with the commoners.

Little Isaac's wet nurse brings him out for a while in the late afternoon, but the commotion seems to be too much for a three month old, so you send her back to the manor before too long.

Soon, the appointed time comes, and you make your way to the platform. A small crowd has gathered, including several of the Knights. You even see Count Foles, still off in the pavillion, turn his attention in your direction. The Duke, upon seeing you and Marna, calls you up on the platform.

"Sir Stone. Welcome, and welcome to all who have joined us here for this fine festival. Feroshire is a jewel of my Dukedom, truly. I have something here for you, by way of King Edward himself, long may he live."

The Duke reaches into his vest an pulls out a parchment, wrapped with a red ribbon and sealed in wax by the King. He hands it to you, and gestures for you to open it. As you read, he starts to speak.

"Sir Stone, for exemplary conduct as steward of your land, for the revitalization and creation of the Town of Feroshire, for your proactive defense of our lands and people, and for your bravery and virtue on the battlefield of Torchester, by the will of the King I hereby create you the Baronet of Feroshire, in the County of Folesden, of the Dukedom of Torchester, in the Kingdom of his Majesty Edward Geronos IV. Congratulations, Sir Stone."

The Duke claps you on the back, and there is a cheer let up from the crowd. You are now truly part of the nobility, albeit on the lowest rung. How will you react? What shall you do?

Act with proper solemnity and thanks. This is a huge honor and we know it. Promise to continue in the tradition of Feroshire (stressing that it's the town and its citizens tradition) to work hard at improving the town and land and to overcome all obstacles in your path. Basically use the speech to give partial credit to the citizens.

Not modifying my previous because I think this is a bad idea, but what do people think about giving the count a pointed glance when we mention overcoming all obstacles?

Supporting being polite and discrete, and non-petty

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

To clarify, and prevent Mal from thinking there is a tie here or something, I am also -1 to my own thought.

You are at a loss of words for a moment, but quickly recover, as it is clear the Duke is looking for you to make a small speech. Clearing your throat, you solemnly thank him for the incredible honor he has bestowed upon you.

Continuing on, you make it clear that you will continue to honor the traditions of Feroshire and its hard-working citizens, who have been your loyal subjects. You may have supplied many of the plans, but they supplied the hard work, sweat, and blood that has built Feroshire into what it is today.

You end by promising to continue their protection, and never stop working to improve their opportunities in this life.

A rousing cheer goes up among the commonfolk in attendance, and you see several Knights nodding in agreement or clapping softly at your words. You glance over at the pavilion, but find the Count is no longer present.

Marna gives you a long hug, and you dip her down for a kiss. The people give you one more cheer. Any final wishes at the fair, Sir Stone?
