Rule 1, do not piss off the judge DM. If he has given us full armor and prodded us into figuring out how to use it, then use it. :)

I still say we get our merchant guy and ask him to tell us how the merchanty stuff (guilds) etc work. We want more trade flowing through this place if for no other reason than to have more troops and better equipped/trained troops and I have the sinking suspicion that this guy is more aware of what it would take to do that than we ever could be.

Apparently you've been ruling a THOWN since a typo on page 112. I'll go ahead and correct that. You are once again in possession of a lowly TOWN.

Thowns are presumably halfway between thorps and towns, so this is actually an upgrade.

Also, see if we have a town healer. If so, have the healer check our ribs. If not, see if we can get one.

I declare now that Thowns are a thing. This word exist and mean something in our ingame universe. Perhaps it is simply how "town" is written, perhaps it is something, slightly better than town. It is up to the GM now.
Clarification: I am not telling that we have a thown (in case it is something different from towns), but that the word thowns exist.

How about a town ruled by a sub nobleman (a parody of the words throne and town.)

No, it would be halfway between a thorp and a town.

I like it... I'll try to incorporate the thown at some point in the universe... but all joking aside, any other suggestions for the month besides wear plate armor and be married?

Training of archers to veterans? Training of archers to veterans. Also practice with your shield, I feel like we should have staved off more of those blows.

I think it would be nice to further our education a bit, we have books now. We could even read with our wife, if she enjoys reading.

And the books too.

On the topic of training why don't we get our rangers to veteran?

So I haven't gone into this yet, but you'll be quite hard pressed to train your men past Regular. Veteran status is imparted to Regular units that have actual combat experience. There is an Elite level past Veteran, but that will require extensive campaign experience in addition to equipment, resources, and training methods you don't have access to at the moment.
