The Polynesians brought rats everywhere when they colonized the Pacific. I'm not sure how, but I suspect that it involved a handful of rats hiding in the provisions...
I'll be sure to add the children's details to the SOP when I can.

Ah, names. The men will be Pivuti, Neropo, Quivute, Vulidali, and Draveli. In that order (1-5).
The women will be Artie, Orae, Lilani, Heropi, Nachuvi, and Kino. Again, in that order.
The male child will be Kila (Kino+Quivute), the females Lianila (Kino + Quivute) and Polithuana (Artie + Pivuti) More details on their relationships shortly.

Heiruphus and Vulidali will carry on hunting (Knives)
Artie, Orae and Kino will gather fruit.
Heropi will look after Kila (using herbs if needed).
Lilani gathers reeds.
Nachuvi gets a fire going and smokes food if possible.
Pivuti and Nerepo fix the canoe.
Quivate and Draveli cut trees (adzani)

And don't mess with the rats. I like rats.

Amate carefully approaches the thing. It does not move.

4 competent talented fishermen go fishing with a large canoe
1 male goes and chops wood
The wounded stays where he is

1 gathers eggs
2 gather food (getting the pig to aid them+baskets)
1 cares for the wounded
The other weaves baskets for the gatherers

The children play (or gather water, if needed)

It's...something that Amate does not know what it is. It seems to be roughly rectangular, 4×7 feet, with most of it 3 feet off the ground and a part along the back which is 4½ feet high. It has some old knobs and lumps, and a few tubes or pipes leading off the sides...

The thing makes a noise! Everyone runs.
Where will Amate settle?

(I think I collected a total of 11 food (4 shellfish+ 7 eggs), whilst consumed 15 (12 adults, 3 kids), so I should be 26 food, unless I've missed something.)

The 2 fishermen (Oma and Oba), take: canoe -> fish: lagoon.
The 2 labourers (Matta and Joso), gather: Rocks, stones (Baka, the boy, assist). Take the pick just in case they find a mineable spot.
The 2 fighters (Alex and Farrah), scout for suitable site for village near the lagoon.

The 3 gatherers (Aki, Sae, Cera) gather: shellfish with shell knives (Chika and Coco, the girls, assist).
The 2 carvers (Yumi and Chih) weave: baskets for carrying.
The potter (Iliath) gather: eggs from chickens. (assuming collecting eggs isn't an all day job:) weave: clothes for the kids.

So, just to get this straight: the scouting for mineable rocks and stone was unsuccessful in that they found none after exploring the entire island?
Damn :P.

...Yeah, I seem to have failed to mention a minor rule...

You are on a pretty small, forest island. They didn't find any good mines; if you worked, you might be able to find some low-quality digging spots, but you don't need a specific spot for that.
