@mesor: To give you an idea, one of the Ascension Paths for after an assassin goes beyond Rank 8 (after 14,999 exp) is exactly the famed Vindicare Assassin. I don't remember any career taking to the path of the Culexus, though, it may be in a splatbook I have no access to.

So, I guess that gives you an idea of how hard it would be for you to get your hands on that kind of equipment.

Don't need to be a pariah to use it, an untouchable could use it as well it'd just be a little weaker since my aura is weaker.
But I'm hoping I can acquire one somehow because it would make my character totally awesome and able to kill just about anything with 1 shot.
Especially Daemons and psykers.

Maybe I can get the inquisition to get me one or something later into the game.

It wouldn't just be weaker. It'd be unusable. Because it requires you to focus your power. Untouchable is just a void. A Pariah is more. They can focus their untouchability, with training.

What does flagllent do?

You must spend 20 minutes in prayer and self-flagellation each day, dealing 1 point of damage to yourself that you cannot heal (for that day, I believe), for which you gain a +10 to Willpower tests to resist Mind Control or Malignancy, plus if you have Frenzy, you can enter Frenzy as a free action. If you don't do the self-harm, you get a -5 to all tests.

Yes, it focuses the aura. But an Untouchable doesn't have an Aura.


See, here's how untouchables, normals, psykers, and pariahs work.

Everyone has an aura, normally. Psykers have a bigger one.

Untouchables don't have an aura. Pariahs have an anti-aura.

Untouchables supposedly do have an aura but it is a different kind of aura to the Pariah. Pariahs would be impossible to use in a Dark Heresy game except as an NPC and only in certain circumstances because "a baseline human finds it impossible to be in the Pariah's presence." If you were Pariah-tier, mesor, Roth would be dead and you'd be on the run.

But the weapon itself should still work for an untouchable, even if not by my aura it'd work by sucking power from a psyker to fire back at him .

The Animus Speculum doesn't do the sucking part though, or act as an ammo hopper. That's all Pariah.

Would of been good if I could get one though so I could 1 shot psykers and daemons.

Weeeelp. I want to know if the GM has already checked the "Suffering Judge" Alternate Career and the new pieces of Arbites equipment available in The Book of Judgement.

Oh, and to anyone wondering, during character creation I swapped Fel for Str and Int for BS to better fit my background, or Lemanov would be a weak knight and a bad (although not terrible) shot with a silver tongue and Adept-level intellect.
