Any sci-fi DF games or mods?
« on: November 11, 2012, 08:16:36 pm »

I've been a really big sci-fi mood lately, and need a little break from fantasy/medieval.

So are there any sci-fi games like DF or any full conversion mods that are good?

You could try looking through the Modding forum instead of asking us to do it for you.

Children you rescue shouldn't behave like rabid beasts.  I guess your regular companions shouldn't act like rabid beasts either.
I think that's a little more impossible than I'm likely to have time for.

Oohhh spicy, but anyway wondering if anyone had a suggestion before I start picking mods at random and seeing if they are playable.

Yeah, nothing wrong with asking for advice... a bunch of stuff in the modding forum might not be all there yet, in any event.

Eh, good points, and I apologize. Used to dealing with the lazy asses where I work.

On topic, though: I've found that so far with mods the best way to see if it's "good" is just to try it. Others' opinions of it may not match yours, and it's hard to get a feel for how the mod plays just by reading about it.

No problem just there is a lot of mods, and it gets old quick when 98% are not stable, don't work or add the smallest changes. But I can imagine there won't be to many sci-fi mods. So maybe I'll just start trying them out.

A while ago I saw a fallout style post apocalyptic mod that I almost wanted to try, but that was several versions ago, and who knows if it's been updated, or where you could fine it.

I wonder if the game has become odd.

The fallout Equestria mod is also quite fun, if you don't mind ponies :P

Slave traders occasionally bring feral ghouls for trade. I haven't decided if this is a bug or feature yet.

Because someone like the ponies, and likes fallout. Make sense to me to mix up things :D
