Herald, figuring that the situation will take awhile to resolve, decides to take advantage of the extra time in the library with the Pink Book, trying to find information that he could try to apply to improve the blood animal spell.

The best solution would be to dispel that meddlesome power, enchant him to prevent him from accidentally acquiring more, and demote him to the level of a common slave. Servant, I mean. Someone to help out around here, do odd jobs, that sort of thing..."

[6] Hm... it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to get them to wriggle around a bit under your command, once you're better at it. You think testing it out a few times is going to be necessary to really get a better grasp on it, though.

Then the vines disappear.

"Well, I leave it to you, Impsy. It seems I'll need a new apprentice, though... I wonder if my new one should be special, though?"

With that, he vanishes in a swirl of energy.



The imp then spends a few good long seconds cackling.

"I'm in charge now! Bwahahahaha!

Now then, for your first task... show our friend here what happens to bad servants."

He smiles unpleasantly, watching the three official apprentices expectantly.

Herald smirks and turns to the Imp. "Before we get started, is there a tub or bucket somewhere around here? It would seem my magic works best with blood, and it looks like I have a chance to start a collection of the stuff."

I thought being a wizard's apprentice would put me above being a hired muscle. Guess it's best to get on the good side of my mentally-corkscrewed master's power-mad adviser, and he's too beat up to offer much resistance to the three of us. Hopefully.
