After that, look for survivors.

You jump into the truck, driving around to find a mechanic's garage. Luckily, you find one, albeit it's very worn, and actually in much disorder.

You pull the truck inside, and muscle the door closed. Thanks to windows in the ceiling, you can still see by the sunlight.

You make a meal of 2 bags of chips, and take a couple swigs from the canteen.

There are a lot of tools in here. You don't know very much, but you could probably pick up a manual... or something. You probably know your way about some tools anyhow. Do you look around?

Find a manual for the truck then set about getting the truck into perfect working condition, use any spare parts I can find to upgrade it.

You look at the truck for a couple of seconds, trying to figure out what brand it is. It doesn't have any identification, really, besides the big FORD in shiny letters upon the back of the truck.

Well, you have an idea now. You scrounge the mechanic's shop for an instruction manual to this truck, going by pictures only. You manage to find a booklet that has a similar-looking truck on the front, but it is damaged, missing a few pages in the engine repair. You figure that it might not be the exact one, you could fix the truck up relatively easily with it. You're afraid of breaking it, having close to no mechanical skill however.

You figure you could change oil. Hell, everyone knows how to change the oil. You sift around for an oil pan, and the necessary type of oil it describes in the book, and you slide underneath the truck with help of a modified skateboard.

You get to work pulling a few bolts, and suddenly, a piping-hot stream of oil flows out, spilling into the pan. At least you did this correctly. After all the oil spills out, you plug the hole with the bolt, and then add in the new oil.

Feeling satisfied, you look at the truck, and get a sinking realization. Changing oil might be the only thing you CAN do. You need to find someone that knows their way around a vehicle, otherwise, you might break something.

You do manage to change the filter, finding a slightly-less dirty one in a discarded parts bin, and after a bit of muscling and loud swears, you manage to fit it in.

Suddenly, you hear a breath on the back of your neck, and you wheel around with a wrench in your hand, hearing a loud snapping noise.

Oh SHIT! How did that get in here so quietly? An obese zombie wearing a dirty mechanic's jumper lunges at you, snapping it's teeth inches away from your crotch as you fall backwards. The only thing you have in your hand is a wrench. Your weapons are in the car...

Wrench, take the wrench to it's head and pulverize it.

You scramble for a second, the zombie snipping at your heels, before you roll over, lunging at the mutated walking corpse. You hit it hard in the neck with your wrench, and you hear AND feel a loud CRACK!

The zombie goes limp, having it's spine broken. Interesting.

The thing that scares the shit out of you is when it's head takes another snap, trying to drag it's now immobile body across the floor with it's rotten teeth.
Cut the head off, it still bites.

You shiver.

Smash it's head to pieces with the Wrench, be careful to do it from behind the head so it can not bite at me.

You carefully take aim, bringing the hammer down hard upon the head, and with a satisfying crunch, it caves in, and the snapping stops.

You step back, gore dripping from the wrench. Nasty.

You look over to an open doorway that probably leads to another room. That's likely where he came from. You close the door, not wanting another surprise, because you might not just survive next time.

You can pick up some tools to take on the road, or just get out and explore the rest of the town. Spending a few minutes to grab some tools doesn't seem like a bad idea, however.

Keep the hammer to hand and get my combat knife, search the whole building for anything of use.

(( Tools, food, water, valuables, maybe a better vehicle and so on. ))

You keep the wrench in hand, ((Woops, called it a hammer.)) while grabbing your knife, placing it on your belt. You open the door to the rest of the shop, finding what looked like a lobby, small office, and employee game room of sorts. The lobby has a water cooler, but it is sadly empty. There are also several wilted plants, and the universal layer of dust that covers nearly anything nowadays. There is a small desk, and a knocked-over office chair, along with several magazines upon a coffee table in the middle, next to a small couch. Nothing really worth interest.

The game room has a pool table, a couch, and a TV. You try to turn on the TV, but discover that it does not work due to the power being cut off. You find a pool cue, and several pool balls resting upon the green-felted table.

Inside the office, there is a sturdy-looking desk that probably used to hold the monitor that has fallen upon the ground, and splintered into a million pieces. There is a safe in the back, open and empty, and bookshelves containing dictionaries and other useless things. A small potted plant in the corner has already wilted, like the ones in the lobby, and there is a very large bloodstain upon the floor next to the table.

Upon the table is a small picture in a wooden frame, detailing the man you had just killed before he was a zombie, and what looks like his family. After sifting through some drawers, you find some spare change, and a set of batteries. Hey, those could work with your flashlight! You also find a pack of cigars, and a lighter.
