Sorry Need Computer Help (Again)

Hi guys, so as some of you may know I'm absolutely terrible with technology. I've managed to somehow screw up my catalyst control center (I have an HP Pavilion dv7-6143cl Entertainment Notebook PC with switchable graphics) so now I can't seem to select the switchable graphics anymore. What I think happened, is that my computer asked me to run an update of my catalyst control center, I did, and then it started giving me pages for the same update that were not in English, so I closed out. I expect that by doing so, I ruined my catalyst control center. I've tried to reinstall using;

and

But it only gives me this message;
'AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer. The version of your graphics adapter is not supported.'

As far as I can tell, Catalyst Control Center is now completely gone.

Any help would be very much appreciated

scrub the video drivers from the laptop INCLUDING the intel. then install the intel first, then install the amd, get everything from HP so we dont have to deal with compat issues yet.

Whew, nvm. I just reverted back to 2 days ago, and all seems well (especially because I uninstalled every driver and then had problems reinstalling, but it seems like the system restore worked, thank goodness!)
Sorry, I tend to freak out about computer problems.

Charles, backup the computer and run the recovery partition and start all over.

It says it requires an intel (AMD signed) Switchable graphics driver to be pre-installed, where might I find that?

found this site like hours ago but im currently running catalyst 12.10 now on my dm4.
Their suite contains all the necessary components for the switchable graphics.

Wait, where is the download section on this page...and I have a radeon HD 6770, which doesn't seem to be supported according to this..."Those drives are designed for AMD + Intel ( Intel HD/HD2000/HD2500/HD3000/HD4000 CPU Embedded Graphics ) powered laptops, based on latest official WHQL/Beta versions of AMD and Intel drivers."?

(Also, for some reason it seems like Norton is causing problems. I do a system restore, and there is no issue until Norton does an update. Go figure...)

Additionally, one of my bigger problems is that Catalyst Control Center won't update to 12.10. It does the update through its automatic software update, and says it is successful, but still registers as having the 11.9 driver installed. Should I be uninstalling CCC beforehand? If so, how, and what process should I be going through?

Basically, right now what I REALLY need is a set of detailed instructions on how to update all my drivers (especially catalyst)...even better would be that and links.
