Use our EVO with the lichen DNA to gain autotroph-like abilities. We just need to find, like, some sunlight.

Store DNA held. Use rat DNA to grow better legs. Continue to hunt for food.

Use lichen DNA to evolve reproduction via spores?

We seem to be tied on three options right now.

1. Develop energy stores; e.g. adipose tissue.
2. Increase metabolism/rock digestion.
3. Grow legs.

i was about to vote energy stores, but then realized that it's pointless to store energy we can't obtain. we need to be able to gather it to store it.

develop rock digestion

we need a food source, there arn't any nearby, and we can't travel to find it right now. this will give us a fallback so we can not die if we mess up on finding other foods.

after that, lets go for energy stores.
after both of those, THEN we can get on with the interesting stuff.
begin your megaprojects/industries AFTER setting up the farm plots/trade depot/workshops/water source and getting your dwarves indoors.

The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

Rock digestion isn't really practical... I'd rather get out and use photosynthesis.

Maybe thermosynthesis is better? We've already got a source of heat, after all.

and we can't travel to find it right now.

That's what the legs are for. With them, we can get out of this place containing little to no opportunity, or at least be able to hunt down potential prey.

I vote for rock digestion, then energy stores, then legs so we can get out of the sewers, then photosynthesis so we can survive above ground.

I'm voting for rock digestion. If we get down to 0 food, we'lll be able to get emergency food.

Yeah, I figure it'll serve as little more than that, because we aren't a plant nor do we have enough DNA to become something so close to an autotroph.
