The Holy Grail
« on: October 27, 2012, 03:25:43 pm »

I never thought I'd see the day.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

She's the most socially skilled dwarf in my fortress. She never loses mayoral elections. She has made one demand, for a copper weapon rack in her office. And she never, ever gives orders.

I feel like I just won Dwarf Fortress.

Given current events, I've altered my profile pic and I'm sorry it took so long to fix. If you find the old one on any of my accounts elsewhere on the internet, let me know by message (along with the specific site) and I'll fix. Can't link the revised avatar for some reason.

I'm not going to lie, I'm most entertained by the fact that she likes ducks. For their quacks.

I had one way better. He was also the former head of a temple (whatever those random names are), but it turned out to be a vampire...

I just paid my last respect to my queen who just died of old age. She was pretty soft and adorable as well. Never issued a mandate, and did her job well at the smelter.

Her upper body is gone and she died of old age?
Your fortress was ruled by a pair of legs?

My son, many speak of the honor in war.
My preferred method is to wait until their back is turned, then impale them with a pike held by someone else.
Preferrably from a distance.

If you look at any dead creature it'll say that. Just one of DF's many unique features.

I just realized two things. 1. For the Win and F___ the World have the same initials. 2. They have the same meaning in Dwarf Fortress.

Dwarfs never die of old age, they just snap in half once they get too top heavy.

I do not trust this Mrs. "Pudgykins".

She destests hamsters. Who could detest a hamster?!

I hamstersat for a friend (well, ferret-and-hamstersat) a couple of years ago. The ferrets were fine, but the hamster bit straight through my left middle finger. I got away before it could shake me around by the left middle finger and rip it away to remain in the hamster's grip, but I detested that hamster. That hamster became an enemy of Doublestrafe.
