"Actually, it's old Kestvoshorik for emerald. You know the Latin word for it? Smaragdus?"


Allie returns from the bathroom, picks Marie up, and puts her back on her shoulders.

"Figured I wasn't right since I was, by all rights, wildly guessing. But, yeah, I know some latin. It's been a while though."

Nicole accidentally brushes the book aside and a piece of paper falls out. Nicole grabs it.

"What's this?"
She turns it over and it shows a part of a family tree in maroon ink and the rest in other pen colors. A maroon picture of a man named Iiton is connected to a picture of a woman named Rebecca, connection and picture in black. A line downwards in blue leads to two children, Alison and Ethan.


"So why is half of you dead?"

James blankly looks at Nicole as he searches for a response, he ultimately decides on sarcasm.
"Sure, sure, that makes sense."

"What's this?"

"This one in the possesion of one of Allie's relatives. I don't know who, though. The world kinda ended."

"Once again, no clue. Only person from her family she's ever told me about is her cousin_{, I think,} Thomas. But I ended up shooting him in the face, so..."

"Let's see. Rebbeca's sister, Emma had two children, Thomas and Jack. And in terrible English handwriting, it says 'I don't like this kid.' next to Thomas's picture. This must be her tree."
