I kinda feel bad about having the most beautiful weather I've seen in a good while out right now. Worst I have is that it's chillier than usual, and has been a clear sky all day. It feels like winter is going to come early here, and that's just about it.

Although, to be fair, I do have family up in NY, so my prayers are with them and anyone else caught in that storm.

Screw that. Get a bedsheet and a skateboard, and fly across at record speeds. After all, it's just a CAT1 storm. Doing this is way more fun in a CAT3.

So what's the prospects if a fire got started somewhere in this? I know it's wet, but it's also really, really windy, and getting to it in time might be a challenge. Did they remember to warn people to disarm their incendiary burglar alarms and safely stow away anything flammable and such? Or is that not a concern?

Brace yourself. We had a hurricane last christmas that cut power for 48 hours. I was siphoning power from laptop batteries into my smartphone so I could get some sort of connection to the world through the 3G.

 Power has been flickering all day, probably due to guys working on it. My internet connection is really throttled though. Who knows how long this will last with the hurricane winds less than 50 miles away.
