So one of my ward dogs get killed by a goblin thief, is possible to butcher this dead dog? And as I do with my animals killed by militia?

As far as i know in vanilla game:
You can butcher every "wild" animal, which died in any possible way, including killing with your miltia.

You can't butcher animals owned by a dwarf, neither if they are alive or already dead.

You can command butchering of stray (=not owned by any dwarf) animals, while they are alive.

I'm not sure if you can butcher dead stray animals, but I tend to a "no".

According to Wiki:

A dead tame animal that was not killed by your military cannot be butchered.Bug:1180 This includes tame animals killed due to age or due to goblins.

Means no, you can't butcher your killed war dog, unless it was killed by your militia.

Ty Chaia. So sad, this war dog get a name for killing the goblin, but get killed later by bleed =(
So no dog roasts for dinner, just going to make a burial and several statues until i get one of a dog or a goblin or a dog biting a goblin...
