Volcano Fort

I have chosen a embark with a large Volcano and want to make my fort over it how would i go about doing that?

You could get a ton of stone, and make a fortress over it by creating a floor, wall it, and you can continue building upon it.

Just thought of something: does a 'waterfall' of magma give happy thoughts?

Yeah, just use any building material, maybe make multiple floors over the opening.
Waterfalls give happiness when a dwarf walks through the mist they generate, or at least that's what I remember. Magma mist is produced when a cave-in happens in magma, and it has much more unpleasant effects on dwarves. So no, magmafalls don't boost happiness.

So no, magmafalls don't boost happiness.
They make me giggle. That counts as happiness.
