When trying to generate a new world using Accelerated DF Phoebus I encountered the following crash:

RED BERYL: Environment Spec Stone Not Found, Token – SCHIST

I redownloaded the file from DFFD to make sure I didn’t have an old copy as well as the RAW only version.   The entry for red beryl has a stray entry for schist in both the Phoebus graphic and Phoebus RAW versions.  The stray entry was not present in the ASCII version.

Ah! It exists!

I'm a new player of DF and though I tried Masterwork for a bit I found it to be too overwhelming for me while still on the process of learning basic stuff. I figured it'd be best if I started small with vanilla content and then expand into other content like the new workshops and !FUN! stuff in Masterwork DF so I went back to vanilla.

I /really/ missed the simplification of materials and FPS improvements from Masterwork though. One of the fortresses I had to dump was due to FPS issues and this is coming from a new player who still does pretty much simple stuff. I think it was all the old clothing everywhere stacked with a bunch of rocks on the ground that killed it for me. Tried fixing it with dfhack 'cleanowned' but then everyone started moaning and groaning about being exposed and I then tried to get started on making clothes but...to hell with it! It just wasn't being fun for me. Still didn't know about dwarven atom smashers at the time or I could have tried dumping all the stone there and see if it got better.

Found out about Modest, sounded like a solid mod that I would try. While downloading it's zip I continued browsing the forum and found this. My mind was blown, just what I was looking for.

Unpacked Accelerated Modest and currently generating a new world! All I replaced was the tileset png with one that makes it a bit easier for me to look at the matrix code and know what's going on. Not a big fan of big graphics packages, I like being able to spot a flashing 'k' in a second or two instead of squinting and zooming trying to find the kobold graphic in the middle of my 20 wardogs at the door.

Anyway, thanks for this!

[Edit] I'm having a strange bug when I use this mod.  I downloaded the Phoebus version, and put the Modest Mod in it too (also the Phoebus version).  Everything was fine at first, but around the end of my first year, some letters in lists started disappearing.  Especially in trade menus and stocks, and as time goes on it seems to be getting worse.  Instead of a letter, I just get black spaces.  It seems to be random.

Ahhh, yes. I've got this quite a few times. Try pressing F12 to turn off Truetype. Should work.
Also, Meph, I just found this. This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for for the last few months. Will be sure to try it out tomorrow.

The blank spaces are not a bug of the mod, but a vanilla DF thing. TTF, truetypefont is broken. Till toady fixes it, you can turn it off with F12, or double-press F11, that will temporarily fix it.

The red_beryl environment missing is not important, but can be easily fixed.

Currently I know only of one bug, and that is that the loom/clothier dont yet accept the generic thread/cloth, which is of course a problem.

I've noticed this as well, it's just a setting in the keybindings. For some reason the key-repeat delay is set lower than normal in this pack. Probably something worth changing next time this is updated.

I'm having some trouble with yarn. It seems dwarves will still ask for the flag "YARN" when in strange moods, but there is no way to get it in the mod.

I'm sorry for not doing the proper research beforehand. I'm quite bad at modding, what would solve this bug ? Is there a way to remove yarn completely from the RAWs ?

Your problem is that it is removed completely from the raws.
