Hm... Well, getting a GM and making it into a more traditional RPG would mostly solve the first problem.
 The second could possibly be solved by having players PM the GM their plotlines with the full sequence of events(or enemies, items, puzzles, etc.) laid out for approval.
And of course, a reset would help, but for certain reasons that's not entirely ideal.
I'd be mostly indifferent towards that, for what it's worth.

Anyways, we can change up the system without doing a reset. It'd just be slightly easier with one.
The point is, we need to make this thing less of a tangled, hard to follow, mess. Also, like Darvi said, less of a 'self-gratifying wankfest'.
