There's only one god I want my dwarves to care about, and I can't even curse them.
Drown them in magma and death, but nothing spiritual... *sigh

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy.

Time out for a second, wouldn't an atheist dwarf be a guaranteed non-cursed dwarf?
No, you can be cursed by gods you don't worship.
Which then causes the Dwarf to worship that God.

Well, that's quite a way to end atheological debate, isn't it?

What if you had the power to smite Dwarves, but doing it in the presence of other Dwarves (or in such a way as to make other Dwarves believe you did it), caused them to worship you so vehemently and mindlessly that they would ignore orders and begin constructing a temple to you in the nearest available large enough space, using whatever material is closest to hand?

Then when they build you a temple out of steel and candy, emptying your reserves for a useless building outside of your fort during a siege..... While you scream at them to stop building in sight of the archers..

Cassandra likes elves for their taste, Cobalt for it's pretty colors, and kittens for their cute intentions. She is incredibly strong, but horribly unlucky, and speaks with a rasping accent. She is white with black eyes. She likes dwarves for their hilarious intentions.

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.

I figured they had to do something stupid to get a god to curse them (like urinating on the high preist of the shiney crap god/goddess or painting graffiti on the temple of the fertility god/goddess.) Plus I've seen dwarves opt to instead worship monsters instead of gods. Spearbreakers has a massive atheist population, but the next largest group is a group of dwarves who worship two different titans/forgtten beasts. Dwarves who worship dwarven gods are almost nonexistant in that fort.

I doesn't always make them worship that god, there are atheist vampires, and atheist were-beasts. I've killed many.

But were these the products of god-cursing?

Fun fact: you will never see Armok as worshipped god in dwarf description. Probably because you are Armok in this game.
