The fleet has adopted a purely defensive posture against the Symbiots.  Until now I hadn't heard of anyone requesting we do any differently.  Our plan is to annihilate anything that warps into Stigmatia.  We do not wish to send the fleet into Symbiot space least they slip in while the fleet is away.

Li Halan is not starting a war with anybody.  Li Halan is expressing our grave, grave dissatisfaction with Decados moving to Tethys when there were other worlds available.

I have not seen sign of symbiots either. It's possible they're simply stationed above the symbiot worlds, waiting. I didn't see damage done to either Stigmata or Fleet units there so I assume there weren't prior engagements.

It's also possible the AI is just screwy and they'll pose no threat to anyone for the whole game, but we can all hope for something interesting.

I trust that the defense at Stigmata is well in hand? It would just be awful if they had somehow infiltrated past the front lines and into Leagueheim. Just thinking of the stock price collapse brought from such news would tear my heart in two and raise my domestic market profit considerably. Yes, absolutely awful.

I must ask house Decados under what principle they think they have the slightest claim to free passage over my territory?  It certainly can not be under the principle of fraternity or goodwill because Decados has shown nothing but scorn for my own concerns.  Your shipping is not welcome in my skies.  If you insist on sending ships to Vera Cruz, Absolution or any other Li Halan worlds your ships will be considered in violation of our space and forfeit.  Take particular note that if the ship currently in violation of Li Halan space above Absolution travels next to Vera Cruz rather then returning to Byzantium where it belongs my ships will not hesitate to annihilate it.

Bargain with Hawkwood for right of passage, you can not scorn me then expect me to show you kindness.

Let us all bring attention to the fact the Li Halan seem bent on starting a plague on the throne world. And when my afflicted subjects are starving and the maggots ooze from their skin, I will send them to seek out the homes of the Li Halan first and foremost. Perhaps they can sit down together for a nice evening dinner. That is, of course, if the Li Halan deny us the right to send a single freighter with a single piece of cargo to Byzantium in order to replenish food stores when there is need to. Does anyone wish to see these unfortunate circumstances come to pass? Will all the good lords from the noble houses sit by and allow the Li Halan to take the regency hostage because of a grudge they hold over a planet they never had any presence on?

The Li Halan have been lashing out as a belligerent and hostile entity. They had no more claim to Tethys than the Decados and it was many, many years after we had already colonized the planet that they expressed any interest. We do not take into account other worlds and their proximity when deciding where we colonize. Tethys is of strategic importance to my people, not simply as a raw manufacturing world to be exploited by the Li Halan machine. If your house's envy is so great, your greed so insatiable, perhaps you should consider bartering Absolution in exchange for outer worlds.

In light of this mainiac's threats and outbursts, the Decados belief he is unfit for appointment as Fleet Commander. We hope the esteemed regent sees this and installs a new and more stable leader when the opportunity affords itself; perhaps Lord Aqizzar himself would be fit for the task. And should a single shot be fired upon the Decados, all efforts will be spent in eradicating the aggressor's presence from the galaxy.

I am imposing nothing upon you.  It speaks volumes about your sense of righteous entitlement that when I refuse to give you something for nothing you consider yourself the wronged party.  I have no more wronged you then you have wronged me.  I am merely no longer viewing you as a friend, since you rebuffed my efforts for friendly settlement of borders before.

My ultimatium stands.  If you send your freighters to Vera Cruz or Absolution they will be attacked.

The Hazat recognises Li Halan being in the right in this dispute, House Decados having failed to secure the right of free passage over Lord mainiac's dominion.
However, we hope that a peaceful solution can be reached, in the form of perhaps a modest monetary concession made by Lady Gorakhan to the other party.
It would be indeed worrying to see the Admiral of the Fleet act in a rash manner, and spark a conflict over such a petty squabble, even in the light of Decados' carelessness.
After all, Lord mainiac was given the command of the Fleet to uphold Pax Imperia, not to enable him to bully other houses into submission.

The imperial fleet doesn't even enter into the matter, my house forces should be more then adequate to the task of interdicting a freighter, thank you very much.  Regardless of what Decados decides to do the Fleet will maintain it's vigil against the Symbiots.

Interesting thought but not that important  Fleet or no, he doesn't have the right to demand passage.

What is this "something" you are giving me? Peace? Order on the throne world? And I am giving you the same in return. Or do you now proclaim yourself ruler of the jump gates that you, nor any human ever constructed? What do you lose by my sending food to the capital? My offer to allow you free passage over Tethys to other worlds is rescinded, of course, unless you have a change of heart.

In the interest of waylaying this dispute from escalating further, I would request first that the Houses of Li Halan and Decados clearly state exactly which worlds or parts thereof they believe in their possession.  Not yet what one would deny the other, simply to which each believes they hold claim.

Further, I hereby offer the services and wealth of House Hawkwood to the Decados for the procurement of foodstuffs from the League.  None wish to see the League's coffers grown over such a matter, but famine and war are far greater concerns.  The offer is contingent on willingness to entreaty, of course.
